Yes, it does, which is why we're concerned with the details, so we can be as efficient as possible.

We arrive by ship at 6:45 that morning and then will fly to Bari at 11:20 to catch our next cruise. There is only 1 flight that will get us to Bari in time, so no choice of scheduling it later. Just not sure about the logistics of getting off the ship, getting to airport, etc.

Can anyone give us information about the Venice cruise port? (the port where a large RC ship would be docked). We have heard it's not possible to walk off the ship with our luggage. Do we take a bus? If so, where are we dropped off? We are wondering where we would meet our private driver. Also, how long does this process of getting off the ship til the time we would meet our driver take? We aren't sure what to give for a pick up time. The ship arrives in port at 6:45.

We are intrigued by the Slovenia idea, and upon further research, I think we'll opt for Ljubljana (if we can only figure out how to pronounce it!). Will need to do some research, but it looks like a very interesting place to pass a few days. Thanks!

Thanks! Thought of Rome, but have been there several times. Any ideas in northern or eastern Italy?

We have 3 or 4 days between cruises this fall and are looking for an interesting place to spend it. Any ideas within several hours of Venice that would be easy to access by train or bus?
