  1. Thanks for sharing Jazzbeau!

We're happy to have such a wonderful and unique program in Southern Africa to share with our clientele.  The concepts that River Cruisers love:  Small group travel (this program is for just 16 at a time!), all inclusive product, and adventure all shine in our 8 night itinerary.  Both our stay in Namibia on the banks of the Zambezi River, and our days cruising on Lake Kariba have strong water components - just what you would expect from a River Cruise line.  And it helps that water is the life force of the region: you know you'll have some up close and personal experiences with wildlife.

  2. France is a fantastic destination for River Cruising:  The country is crisscrossed by major rivers, charming villages, wine regions, and great gastronomy.  Options include:
Paris, the Seine River and the Norman Coast

Burgundy and Provence on the Rhone River

The Loire Valley:  Home of French Royals

The Garonne and Dordogne Rivers and the Gironde Estuary in Bordeaux and the Aquitaine

    And some other options:
Strasbourg, in France's Alsace, lies just south of the Romantic Rhine Valley.  It is a European Capital and a gateway to the Rhine, Main, Neckar, and Moselle Rivers.

French Canals - Canal Barging is a more intimate cousin of River Cruising, and available all over France.

St. Pierre and Miquelon:  This tiny archipelago off of Newfoundland is French territory in North America:  Cruise between it and Montreal on the St. Lawrence River.

    Bon Voyage!

  3. Hi there!  There is no reason why your travel agent wouldn't be able to book your barge cruise for you:  We don't discriminate and want you to book through a Travel Agent of your choice!

Generally, our barges are all inclusive just like our River Cruises:  Meals on board, open bar, and your tours are wrapped into the cost.  But the experience is different:  These are intimate in size, focused in region, and exclusive in feel.  You really feel connected as a group when traveling in such a small scope.

    Whichever you choose, enjoy!

  4. Hi Sjde,
Thanks for thinking of us.  Overwhelmingly, the majority of our guests are adults - this is the norm for River Cruises and it makes a lot of sense:  River cruising is a little quieter, a little more focused on history and culture, and a little more refined than Ocean Cruising.
But, we believe River Cruising can be a great fit for travelers of all ages - as long as they want to see Europe from a Comfortable cabin.  So, we don't have age restrictions on any cruise.
Our "Family Club" programs do tend to get more of a mix of young families, inter-generational travel, and family groups.  They are offered in the Summer Months, on select sailings.

    Bon Voyage!

  5. Hi Folks,
Happy to see so much discussion about our cruise line, and just wanted to chime in on a few points you are discussing:

For language on board, we operate these days in French and English on all departures.  Fleetwide, about half of our guests remain French, but we have growing markets across Europe, North America, and worldwide.  So each year, our international clientele grows.  If you have concerns about language, speak to your travel agent or one of our cruise specialists when choosing your itinerary.

Our single supplements:  Our single supplement as a default tends to be close to 30% of the cruise fare, well below the industry norm of 50%.  But, before paying that, consider this:  Most of our ships offer single specific cabins, which come with no single supplement.  And, we have frequent promotions where single supplements are waived on particular sailings.

Again, I'd say speak to our cruise specialists - they can help you find a cruise that fits for you.

    Bon Voyage,

    CroisiEurope Team

  6. In France, you'll find great wine excursions regardless of the river you take:  Burgundy, Bordeaux, Languedoc, Champagne, Alsace, and Loire Valley regions are all navigable by River Cruise or Barge, and all have their own wines focusing on the unique terroir.  But, for real oenophiles, there are wine themed cruises available from time to time.

    Cheers!

  7. Hi there,

Excursions are included in the cost of your cruise, if you have booked in the North American Market only, In other markets, excursions are a-la-carte, and can be pre booked or picked on board.

There are two packages, for two types of tours:

Classic Excursions are the must-see destinations in each port. These are often panoramic city tours, walking tours, or museum visits.

Discover Excursions are the alternative - often active or off beat, these may include hiking, cycling, helicopter rides, or climbs to the top of a Cathedral. Great for the adventuresome and those who have already visited the Classic stops.

  8. Hi Linda,

Thank you so much for the kind words! The Loire Princesse is a special ship to us, being truly one of a kind, our first in the paddlwheel style, and with a top-notch staff.

The Loire Valley in general is such a magical place - deep history, amazing architecture, and this is a totally new way to visit it.

We are so pleased to have welcomed you on board.

  9. We're interested in your 2019 cruises. When will 2019 information be posted on your website?

    Hi Kathy!

Our 2019 schedule should be published within the next week or two. But, if you call our cruise specialists, they can help you with dates and pricing for the cruises of your choice. Don't forget to ask about early-booking specials on 2019 departures.

Have you visited our brand new website?

  10. Hi all, and thanks for your interest! We love providing itineraries that are new, unique, and off-the beaten path! You're right, these are few and far between, and typically book up quick (smaller ships, interesting programs, and fewer departures = scarcity).

The good news is this is not the only out-of-the-way itinerary we offer. Look for us on France's Loire, in Northern Germany on the Oder and Havel, along Spain's Guadalquivir and Portugal's Guadiana, and across France on our Canal Barges.

Those ready to book for 2019, look for our 2019 schedules to launch in the upcoming month, or call your local travel agent for a preview.

    Bon Voyage!

  11.

Beautiful video! It's made me more likely to sail with Croisieurope! My main reservation about sailing with them has been the set menu, but sailing the Elbe might make it worthwhile!

I hope you'll give us a try. It's true our chefs prepare a chef's choice menu, but that doesn't mean we can't be accomodating. We regularly serve Vegetarians, Gluten Free, Low Sugar - all sorts of diets. Menus are always posted in advance, so if it is something you are not interested in, you can get an alternative. We are proud of our French Tradition and think the Chef's Choice is the best in most cases, but we aim to please.

    Bon Appetite!

  12. Heidelberg really shouldn't be missed on a Rhine River Cruise. The castle is a fantastic look into history - and one of the few you get to explore - although you will see many from afar as you cruise through the Rhine Valley.

The town itself can be a bit busy, but that it was makes it fun. It is a lively city, a real livable city, and as such has plenty to do and see.

    Tips:

For a snack, look for "Schnitzelbank", a small restaurant tucked away in a back alley that serves great plates in a communal atmosphere. For a traditional German Beer, Vetter Brewing is right near the waterfront and serves up 'big' and 'little' steins, plus you can get a Bavarian style pretzel! :beer-toast:

  13. Isn't the best part of Travel the memories you take with you? Your experience the first time in a new city or a different country should be one of first discoveries, adventure, and enjoyment. When you leave, you want to leave with a desire to return!

There are always new things to discover and old haunts to return to, plus from a CroisiEurope River Cruise you can choose from different types of excursions, giving you a totally unique experience your second time around. Or - set off on your own adventure.

  14. Is the Elbe Worth Cruising on? We think so! You have two of Europe's most interesting cities as bookends in Prague and Berlin, with some really historic and scenic cruising in between. Here's a taste of an Elbe River Cruise:

For what it is worth, our 2018 season is nearly sold out on both the Elbe Princesse and the Elbe Princesse II, so we have plenty of guests who believe it's worth giving a go!

  15. Hi everyone!

Thanks for taking notice of the MS Symphonie - she's a beautiful ship that has joined our fleet of "5 Anchor" vessels.

The Symphonie (Along with the Douce France) was renovated between the 2016 and 2017 seasons, launching in April of 2017.

These are not refurbishments so much as they are re-builds - we are totally taking the ships apart, and starting fresh with larger cabins, less cabins, larger windows and french balconies, and more modern design throughout.

We find the size of these ships (between 80-110 passengers) is the ideal size for river cruising - River Cruisers don't always want bigger, they are looking for intimate ships, comfort, and great experiences. Look for the rebuilt Renoir on the Seine, and Van Gogh on the Rhone, to launch this April!

We're headed the same way with our New Builds - including the Loire Princesse (2014), Elbe Princesse (2016), and the Elbe Princesse II, our third ship scheduled for launch this Spring.

  16. Our barges in France are some of our most popular programs! We currently operate 5 barges - each with it's own region and flavor.

The MS Raymonde - Cruising from Paris to Epernay - the Home of Champagne

The MS Jeanine - Burgundy and Franche Comte from Dijon

The MS Deborah - the Heart of France on the Upper Loire from Briare to Nevers

The MS Madeleine - From Strasbourg to LaGarde in France's Alsace

The MS Anne Marie - Coastal Provence and the Languedoc From Sete to Arles

Barges have the same inclusions as our River Cruises - delicious French Cuisine, Daily Tours, and comfortable cabins. They tend to cover smaller distances and move a bit slower - as a result you get an intensive insight into a unique French Region. This doesn't mean they have to be less active - bikes are provided on board to cycle the tow paths, or around the towns you visit.

With just 22 passengers on board, you end up making close friends with your traveling companions - and making memories to last a lifetime!

  17. Hello drcpa! The Elbe is a wonderful river with some really great history, magical towns, and of course the big cities of Berlin and Prague at either end.

We launched the Elbe Princess last year, our second paddle wheel ship after the Loire Princess. The ship cruises from the Heart of Prague to Berlin, and has been designed to sail in water as low as 1 meter.

It's true that the Elbe can be unpredictable, but we've taken steps to ensure we are the cruise line that can cruise the most frequently and the furthest on this river.

Our last two seasons have been so successful, that we will be launching a sister ship, the Elbe Princess II in 2018.

Please contact your favorite travel agent, or call one of our Cruise Specialists, if you'd like to chat about the Elbe.
