  1. I found an Alaska cruise next Sept on NCL with a gay group by Aquafest. We've never been with Aquafest only Arno.

Can anyone give us info on what it's like? How big a group, demographics, is Aquafest competent etc etc.

    TIA

  2. Sam and Bill a b&w couple from Nashville Tennessee. Our first cruise was in 2014 to celebrate our 35th anniversary.

We've done 2 more since, all on Carnival with another Carnival next winter and a Princess in May of 2016. We're excited to see a different line than Carnival.

  3. We've done 3 on Carnival with a 4th soon and a Princess next year.

We like Carnival but one complaint is that the LGBT Gatherings/Friends of Dorothy are not promoted and poorly attended. Plus each day was at a different time.

We met more gay folks just from being on the cruise than at the Gatherings.

  4. I've seen pictures of some type of "ski-lift" chairs at Mahogany Bay in Roatan.

We're going on Carnival in Feb.

How much are they? Whre does it take you? I looked on Carnival's site but nothing was there that I could find.

  5. Another option would be the Lamanai ruins. They are closer than Xunantunich and you arrive by river boat. Holwer monkeys live there and howl high above the ruins when they see tourists.

I've considered it but Carnival does not offer it and I'm leery of not using them and maybe being left behind. Maybe I worry too much?

How does it compare to Xunantunich?

  6. We're going on Carnival Pride Feb 8. I'm undecided on Coba in Cozumel or Xunantunich in Beliçe. I like the idea of the tall Coba pyramid but wonder if the rest of the ruins are as magnificent as Xunantunich seems to be.

  7. We've cruised twice with Carnival. The first time we requested on the website that they be together. They were not but the steward quickly put them together.

The second time they were together as requested.

I wish they would do more to advertise FOD than just list it in the daily activity. The first cruise we took, almost no one ever showed up even though we saw lots of "family." The second was better though it was never at the same time any day.

Next cruise on Carnival in Feb. woohoo

  8. We've not done either of those but last month we stayed at a Days Inn in Cocoa Beach, one block from the beach. It was under $100 for room and shuttle, clean basic room sufficient for one night.

The shuttle left at 10:30 for the port and we were at the lunch buffet on the Lido by noon.

On the return, the shuttle was waiting, we were back on the road headed home by 10am et.
