  1. We just got off Escape and I can confirm that Syd Norman's was definitely not a paid venue, but it did fill up quickly, we arrived at least45 minutes early to ensure a seat.  Every show was SRO by the the time the band took the stage at 9:00.  Great show!

  2. We just got back from Norwegian Escape, we rented a scooter for my wife for the first time and had some trepidation regarding how easy it would be to navigate into the stateroom.  To our relief we had no problem fitting the scooter into our standard Balcony cabin, which featured a sofa (convertible to a bed) and queen bed.  Our cabin had the sofa closer to the balcony door and bed closer to the stateroom door, others are reverse.

Do you have a photo of the Christmas menu? I'd love to see what they offered special for the holiday. It's been a decade since we last sailed on Christmas.

No photo, but the menu offered on December 25 was the Italian menu...no "traditional" Xmas fare (i.e. turkey, ham, etc). But was very good throughout the cruise, nonetheless.

Thanks for the information! I am sailing her soon and am happy to hear the positive reviews!

    Were Steamers or Planks open?

I am curious about them both. As this is my first Princess cruise and I would like to try as much of it as I can 🙂

Do you have any other specific recommendations for a first time princess sailer?

    Thanks in advance!

No, Steamers nor Planks were open. There was no pub lunch offered on this cruise.

  5. We also just returned from the 12/19 sailing. Per the cruise director Matt, the ship sailed at 40% capacity, and it certainly seemed uncrowded. No problem finding a deck chair near the pool! Coral and Island dining rooms were open, we had the same table and excellent waitstaff each evening as we made a reservation for 6 of 7 nights (one evening at Crown Grill on Xmas Eve).  Debarkation was a breeze, off by 8:30, home by 10:00.  Crew was genuinely appreciative to have guests back on board. A very relaxing week.

  6. A S Florida Local here...I wouldn't park anywhere but at POM garage...the peace of mind is more than worth the extra $. You're spending $1000s on a cruise, don't let your last cruise memory be of a smashed window and burgled vehicle.

Anybody know if there is any where in the medallion apps to check on the status of when the medallions will arrive at our home? I know, from reading in the thread that it should be a few weeks prior to the sail date, but since it is Christmas time and the many delivery services are always running late, I would like to get a realistic date, when to expect them. I know if they don’t show up in time I can get them at boarding time, but I would like them prior to boarding.

    Thanks

We received our medallions this past Monday via FedEx for our 12/22 sailing. And received an email this afternoon letting me know that they had been shipped. So the 2 week prior timeframe appears to be accurate.

  8. always have used Park and Go for ft Lauderdale. Going on the allure using the new terminal(I hope) Dec 2nd.

Do I need resrvations ahead of time to park there? Never have parked at the port before. thanks

No reservations required at POM. We've never had a problem with availability.

  9. We did this excursion last year (with the return by catamaran) and loved it! It was a ship’s tour. If not offered by your ship, I’d Google “sugar train St. Kitts” to see how else to book.

We also did the same excursion last week (Scenic Railway + Catamaran) and thoroughly enjoyed both - the train is a unique experience that can't be duplicated anywhere else in the Caribbean!
