  1. I know that now everyone sees the value of FTTF, but we do.   My question is this.  We are cruising on The Celebration on April 28th of 2024 out of Miami.  FTTF doesn’t show up under excursions and one time I searched for it it said “not available for this sailing”.

Does that mean it WONT become available as they already have their fill of Diamond and Platinum guests?   Does it mean they simply don’t offer it for this sailing?  I haven’t crushed since Covid so I’m more just asking if SOME sailings just don’t ever offer FTTF, or if I should just keep checking.

    thank you I’m advance.

  2. Or am I just crazy? (Could be both)

in the past, you were required to choose a check-in time to gain access to the terminal but could disregard that appointment window if you were Diamond, Platinum or FTTF.

Has this changed? The rep I just spoke with said to stick with our appointment window even with FTTF.  Appointment window is 12:30-1.

Is this correct now? Or were they misunderstanding me?

Fort Lauderdale, boarding tomorrow on the Magic.

  3. I really enjoyed the smoking section on deck 10 starboard on the Glory. It was huge and outside with plenty of seats and tables and cocktail service. I try to be considerate of people who are sensitive to the smoke and this area was separate and comfortable. No need for anyone to be walking by who wasn't there for a smoke.

  4. At what time latest can you depart the ship? Is there a departure time? I imagine that if they have to get rooms ready for the FTTF program, that you have to leave earlier too. Is that a correct assumption?

I want to say our room steward on the Glory last month said he wouldn't rush us, but after 9am he would really need to get into our cabin. I believe officially it's like 8-830 am to vacate your cabin. To be honest, debarkation day is such a bummer that I'm not the type to hang on to every last second I can get on the ship and debark as early as possible.

  5. I have fttf for the first time and have not been on Carnival since 2009. How do you get to your cabin when the doors are locked to the cabin hallways until 1pm. Or does Carnival not do this. Thanks

The doors to the hallways are closed but not locked. The sign on the door politely asks you to wait till they're ready with the exception of FTTF guests.

  6. I don't see that happening at all. This would bee to chaotic. I doubt many people will want to tour another ship when they could be doing an excursion.

The OP for one would love to. Maybe older people who don't want to do an excursion otherwise, curious cruisers who maybe haven't seen some of the upgrades, people who just want to do something for an hour.

I'm thinking a corporation that brings SO MANY people to and from foreign countries without requiring passports can manage a dozen people who have already been screened for security for their own ship touring another CCL ship. Consider they haven't left the terminal, provided their S&S card so they can be tracked, and are guided rather than just set loose.

  7. LOL, along with calling people who have not made it back to the ship, now we also have to find people who have not left the ship.

Yes it could be challenging logistically to make it work, but I bet when ships went cashless years ago and began using the S&S cards it seemed like a complicated system too. I'd pay upwards of $50 for a tour of a ship that I really wanted to see. Ships making money for tours while so many people are ashore seems like it could be a win. Additionally, the advertising is free (profitable actually) and the future cruise desk may actually get some business.

I'm talking small, guided groups. Not just sending people off on their own and expecting them to debark on their own.

  8. There are literally thousands of videos on Youtube of each ship in the fleet. I bet I could find video of any part of the boat in just a few minutes.

And there are thousands of videos of people zip lining. Doesn't mean I wouldn't like to do it myself rather than watch a video.

  9. I was on a ship docked in Cozumel recently and with us were 3 other Carnival ships and Oasis of the Seas. Having only sailed on Conquest class ships (and therefor my favorite class), I would love to see some sort of inexpensive "excursion" where you can take a guided tour of other Carnival ships while at the same port. I believe the Breeze, Magic and Fantasy were all in Cozumel that day (I may be wrong) and it would be great to get to check them out. This would of course have to be guided, maybe an hour tour in smaller groups to keep track of people.

I would have also loved to tour the Oasis in the same manner since the weather was not that nice and I'm not much of a port shopper.

Just thinking this may a decent marketing tool for cruisers like me with limited ships under my belt and that maybe Carnival people may see this and think on it.

Does anyone know if such programs exist?

  10. Saffie was an assistant CD when I cruised on the Miracle and she was wonderful. Corey Rogers was the CD and he was great also. I'm happy to hear she is doing well as a CD.

She has great energy and doesn't make too too many pages. Also, she is easier to understand than some and she always closes with "buh-bye" [emoji4]

  11. On my last 7 day cruise my cabin mate did not think Cheers would be worth the cost. We made an agreement that we wouldn't get Cheers but he would reimburse me for anything I spent (in drinks) over $400 minus any amount the he ended up "under" $400 on the final bill. Well, my final bill for drinks ended up being $720 and his was $880. So...I spent $400 and he spent $1200.

Your results may vary. And yes...I accepted the reimbursement because I fought tooth and nail to get him to agree to get Cheers but he wouldn't budge.
