  1. On June 4th sailing….we are on Deck 6 in a Panoramic OV….so is the entire Deck 6 the isolation ward?  Knowing that Panoramic OV cabins are only located on Deck 6…….what are the chances we’ll be upgraded to the next logical category which is the standard Infinite Balcony?  Hmmm. Thoughts?

    Hello

we have also purchased switch health tests for our upcoming trip to Italy. Similar to you, we are arriving in advance of a cruise. We contacted celebrity and they confirmed any supervised test monitored by a health care professional would be accepted. Hope this helps

Perfect. This is exactly what I wanted to know.

  3. Question for my fellow Canadians:

We are flying into Italy 4 days prior to cruise to enjoy the sites, therefore have to rapid test in Italy prior to embarking cruise.  On the Celebrity site it talks about EMED tests they sell for US guests.  Here in Canada we have similar proctored tests sold by a company called “Switch Health”. Any recent Canuck cruisers know if Celebrity checkin agents in Civitevechia will accept a Switch Health test result ?

  4. Need help filling this out from someone in similar situation as me please, their FAQ & user manual are a translated nightmare.

We are FLYING direct from Canada to Rome 4 days prior to cruise.  Staying first at a hotel in Rome.  Then boarding the EDGE in Civi.

Question #1 on the form asks:

Transportation Type;  please select how you will be travelling.  Air or Cruise?

-is this asking how I’m arriving into Rome upon entry?  If so….it’s by AIR , then I give my arrival flight details……then it’ll ask what will be my temporary address, so I  then give hotel details and then add an extra temporary address and give cruise ship details…..but just asks the ship name.

      - if I answer YES immediately as CRUISE SHIP, then it wants full cruise itinerary and dates which seems important to know, but asks nothing about my arrival flight or where I’ll be staying and for how long in Rome. So strange.

Advice wanted from anyone who flew in a few days prior to cruise, stayed in Rome then sailed out of Civi.  How did you fill this form out?

  5. Will be arriving CEL Reflection in April from 7a-4pm.  Not really into seeing the walled city or fortress or the congested city centre.......we are scenic drive people.  May I have some suggestions on hiring a taxi outside the port for 4 adults for 5 hours along the coast.  We want safe areas, small market shopping costal scenery and lunch.  Can this even be done by taxi?  English driver?   How would I explain to them what I want?. Is there a better way to secure this in advance?  Suggestions on a route

  6. Just booked a $25 deposit cruise promo for 2020 Southern Caribbean cruise......balcony with one perk ( I chose classic BEV)..... so let’s suppose in the next few months a better promo comes out like many times in the past where a  balcony cabin booking = 2 perks.   What will the chances be of asking them to add on the extra perk? .  Thoughts ?

You don't list the exact dates but taking a peak at Air Canada YHZ-FCO I'm seeing fares around $1,000-$1,100 so I agree you appear to have lucked out.  Also looks like you are flying main line Air Canada (not Rouge) so another good score.

To know how you did, is the price for the cruise as well as the perks comparable to what you would have paid by booking directly with the cruiseline?

Yes price and perks were identical

  8. Used Air Canada Vacations to book cruise and air together for mid May 2019.  Because I packaged it with them, just for the air fare, Halifax to Rome (cnx Toronto both ways) includes seat selection and one checked piece of luggage for $795 CDN all taxes in.  Rarely do I ever feel that the airfare Gods are shining down upon me, but would anybody agree with me that I lucked out this time ?

  9. This coming May we are a group of 6 staying and exploring Rome for 4 nights in an ABNB prior to our JOS cruise.  I’m searching for a ‘full day tour’ that leaves and returns to Rome going to the Tuscany region.  We want to do a Tuscany quick tour enroute, Winery, Food and COOKING.  Return transfers from the city of Rome must be included. Have no problem finding the combo with Tour, Food, Wine....the issue is having a cooking class to prepare the meal included.  Can a vet on here guide me to a personal contact or business website that would do such a day trip from Rome that includes Cooking.  It’s a bucket-list item to cook their own pasta in Tuscany.  Need to make this happen somehow.  Help !

  10. HOS Western next month. Can someone direct me towards a link to quickly view which eateries onboard are no charge vs charge......or if someone could be so kind as to reply with a quick list of the ‘no charge’ venues. Thanks in advance.

  11. Ok,....just got off the phone with R.C.I. and they double verified this with a supervisor:

Upon Check-In, your credit card is swipped, but NOT pre-authorized. At the end of each day the on-board accounting system will add up what was spent on your sea-pass for that DAY and send a pre-authorization request to your Credit Card company for that amount only. I guess it holds that amount in a "shadow trust" Each and every day there after, it does the same thing, all the time building a tally of what they'll charge your card the last day if you don't go and settle your acount with cash before getting off the boat. So i'm good to go. Hope this info helps someone else clairify the mystery.

    Happy sails everyone.
