I have never seen points that show in the detail not included in the total.  I would email them and get it corrected.

My husband never received his points on our December cruise. Do you have the email address? I have about 3 days until I hit 90 days.
    thanks.

  2. I am currently on the Seaview and disembarking tomorrow. We did have to show the covid test within 24 hours. We had bought the binex now and did it in the hotel room the night before. We had the results in our phone and they took a picture of it. It was flawless. I don’t know where you would go to get it but the way we did it was very easy.

A post I read yesterday made me think of an interesting question.  If you don't drink alcohol, would you consider the Yacht Club still worth the money?  The everything you want to drink perk is a big reason we like it.

We book it (even though I don’t drink) because we want to avoid the crowds. And getting onboard without waiting like everyone else is priceless.

Ha ha me again. I posted this on another thread which may help too (mixed font size again).

I have not used these but they say they can do tests at your hotel (Inc Sat & Sun) with results in six hours. Looks like they are geared to dealing with tourists.

You can contact on whatsapp so see how it goes.

Thanks. I have used the Binax Now tele video test before and since it is done with a live person at the other end, it is not considered a self test. I will use those just in case. It prints out with all of the required info. Not worried about the type of test, just if a 6 night cruise falls in less than 6 or more than 6 nights. My hubby found on another site where it said over 5 nights so we are gonna roll with that. (I plan to hoard early enough that if they don’t accept my test I will have time to get it done elsewhere).

  5. Maybe someone can help. I know I can call customer service 6 times and get 6 different answers. We are going on a 6 night cruise from Brazil. This is what the South American website says about Covid testing.

    7:20

where the traveler was immunized. The vaccination certificate must contain the name of the traveler, the name of the vaccine (or of the manufacturer), amount & dates of the doses applied.

    COVID-19 TEST REQUIREMENTS:

For Cruises less than 6 nights:

    • For fully vaccinated guests a COVID-19 antigen or RT-PCR test is strongly encouraged but not required.
    • For non-vaccinated guests (ages 3 years old or older) a COVID-19 antigen or RT-PCR test is required 24 hours before embarkation.

For Cruises longer than 6 nights:

    • All guests (ages 3 years old or older) are required to provide a COVID-19 antigen or PCR-RT test 24 hours before embarkation.

Where will 6 nights fall? I figure we need to test and bought them already (to do the online antigen). My husband thinks it’s not needed because we are not more than 6 night. Anyone been in this situation? We board Saturday.

I fully understand MSC is a European cruise line. I do not plan to run around dropping tips everywhere behind me. I asked about tips specifically for the drink package because, European or not, they do say on the website that tips are added to the drink package. Our drink package is part of the cruise fare in YC so I didn’t know if tips were “included” in that or if I should tip per drink since we didn’t pay for the package. I also saw on the website that grats are added per drink without the package so my question remained. In my initial post I mentioned paying the daily service charge and tipping the butler/concierge/anyone who does extra. I do think that’s appropriate on any line, if someone goes above and beyond. I obviously will not be insulting anyone.

Wow. Some of the responses. We had booked the YC last September for the first time. My husband and I have both worked in the service industry and know how tips work. While the amt is nice, sometimes it’s the gratitude and appreciation that counts. When we were in the bar in Top Sail, we would tip a few dollars every couple drinks. That’s just who we are. They are working to make us happy and it’s how we show our thanks. I have heard that Americans can be rude and/or obnoxious at times and would like to show that not everyone is like that. It’s definitely a personal option. But I say, enjoy your trip and if you want to pull out an extra dollar or two for a thank you, it would be appreciated, but certainly not expected.

    When is/was this cruise?

How did it all work out (or if not yet, can you come back and let us know?)?

We are flying in on April 9/10 for a Celebrity Infinity cruise on April 19.  We are booked for three nights at the Hilton Copacabana...and one of the few things we haven't yet figured out is transportation GIG to Hilton and Hilton to cruise port...

We go Feb 25. I want to change hotels to the beach area but it’s 45 min to get to the port. Haven’t been able to figure out a price to get from beach to port. As of now our hotel is near the port. I’ll def let you know when I get back!

Thats great thank you,  Are you on Seaview as well ?

Yes. Very excited!! Going a day early and staying an extra day so we can really see some of rio. I have never cruised anywhere but Caribbean so I really can’t wait!

We are cruising out of Rio on the 13th March (back to Europe)  I look forward to hearing how you get on.

I'm really concerned they might not accept the video tests and as usual MSC aren't providing any helpful info.

I am leaving from rio Feb 25. I will try to do a live review and let you know how it goes.

    Hi

Has anyone sailed from Brazil recently?  I understand I need a Covid test (PCR or Antigen) with 24 hours of boarding.

The MSC website states: Tests must be laboratory certified. A rapid antigen self-test is not valid for travel purposes.

Does anyone know if a video supervised antigen test will be accepted.  I have used these with other cruise lines but not sure on MSC. They do email a certificate through.

    Thank you

I used the binax now test with telemedicine for my MSc cruises in the past out of Florida. I too am going to Brazil end of February, so I just ordered two tests online that we are going to bring and do there. If they are not good enough at the port, we will run out and get tested elsewhere (so we will try to get to the port early). Which port do you leave out of, and when are you travelling?

Not to mention that if they arrive at a domestic gate and need to go to baggage claim, they will need to go back through security before heading to the international terminal.  We never take the people mover trains...it can take 45 minutes just to traverse the airport on the moving sidewalks (not that the OP would do this in their situation) but my point is, ATL is way too big and too busy to risk it.

OP, my suggestion would be to take the earlier flight and suck up the 10 hours in the airport (there are a ton of bars) or fly in the day before and stay at an airport hotel.  Several have free airport shuttle service.  It's an added expense but worth it in order not to miss embarkation...which poses a whole other set of circumstances...good luck in whatever you decide.

Thanks. I actually have a hotel in rip because I always travel the day before just in case. It wouldn't be the end of the world if we missed the flight, it's just stressful because it would involve a lot of time and paperwork. Plus I would miss my day in Rio and I am looking forward to it. Waiting for Delta to get back to me.

Just curious, what airport in FLA?

Leaving out of Jacksonville. I am about an hour and fifteen south. Tiny little town no one has heard of but we sit on the st johns river. East Palatka. I checked out Daytona, Orlando, Tampa, and Gainseville. Prices about the same but Jax the closest. I actually wanted to just drive to Atlanta but my hubby was no way.

Personally, I would not risk a flight of that significance on a 45 minute connection.  Atlanta has massive traffic and you can even get stuck on your plane because your arrival gate is not clear.  Not to mention your luggage if you are cutting it close.

That connection is risky even in good times, and right now flying is not good.

I am going to call delta and try to charm them into switching our flights. Fingers crossed.

  14. Delta changed our flight and we now have 45 minutes to make it from the domestic terminal to the international terminal for our vRuo cruise. What are the odds that we will make the connection? Do I need all the stars to align just so? To change will put me in Atlanta for 10 + hours so hubby wants to risk it. If I miss the connection and have to fly out the next day, does travel insurance generally have to cover if I have travel day and missed connection?

  15. Hi y'all. I am going to be boarding the Seaview in Rio. Will YC be the same as USA for embarking? Watching a you tube video where it took 4 hours to get through the line. The video is older though (2021). Need to know if I can start my trip early or wait to board. TIa.

Ugh...reviving this thread. Has anyone who's booked in the last 3 weeks had a problem getting this credit applied?

    TIA

I just checked my booking. I booked the seashore for Dec 2023 on 12/6/22. No obc on my paperwork, but, if I log in on the website and look at the cruise details, the $50pp obc shows up there.
