  1. We once booked at holiday with Thomson 15 months in advance. A couple who we met booked 6 weeks before the holiday for half the price and got a better room. We were cross at the time, but on reflection I suppose it is just how it is. We also booked a cruise at the end of May for the following August and saved a fortune ----------

Having said that, usually book early to ensure that we get what we want. Don't like to chance not getting a rubbish cabin.

I agree, we always book early to get what we want/need.

  2. We paid the full fare and we did get return transport to Southampton included and shuttle service at the ports. I'm not a greedy person and never speak about what we paid in conversations on holidays. I just feel a bit duped that's all, I suppose I should vent at my friends but isn't that what this site is for too? To get information and have constructive criticism when called for? I fully intend to enjoy my cruise, been looking forward to it for a long time. Thank you for all your input.

  3. My friends who are regular cruisers advised me to book early as not only do you get the cabin you want but the prices don't go down but up nearer the time. We go next week and P&O are now advertising prices at more than £300 cheaper than what we paid! Do I need to look at the small print to see if there's a price guarantee?

  4. Hello,

We are first-time cruisers going on Aurora 25th Sept and we are in cabin B179. Could anyone tell me what to expect? For example as regards the cabin and I know alcoholic drinks and soft drinks are to be paid for but what about teas and coffees? Also I have read somewhere that you can pay for wine packages but we haven't received any info from p&o as yet. I have read on some forums that you are offered Champagne on boarding the ship and then asked to pay for it, is this true?

    Thanks in advance.

  5. Hello,

We are going on our first cruise on Aurora, Sept 25th and have just received a large booklet from p&o. I thought there would be lots of information with regards to what entertainment to expect onboard and whether there is a drinks package we could buy etc. but apart from the luggage tags it is all about excursions. All that info is already on the webpage so I expected to see more about our individual cruise. Also if anyone who has been on Aurora could tell me, we have an inside cabin B179, anyone know what we can expect?

    thanks in advance.
