  1. We are considering a cruise to the Baltic next summer and after some research have narrowed the choices to Regent, Silver Sea and Seabourn - possibly Oceania. The Regent cruise will be on their newest ship, Explorer, which has only been active for a month or so - thus hard to get any number of reviews.

The itineraries offered by each line are essentially the same, so I think the choice will come down to cost, excursions offered and quality of service/food/rooms on the ship.

    Any insights will be appreciated!

    Thanks

  2. I am considering a Regent cruise next June to the Baltic. The "included" business class airfare seems very attractive on the surface - traveling to that region from the midwest is pretty expensive. Having never sailed with Regent I do not know how this program works - do they pick your flights, is it really business class/first class, can you influence choice of flights?

    Any information is appreciated.

  3. We are taking the train from Anchorage to Seward the morning we depart on our cruise. The train arrives in Seward at about 11:15 AM, and apparently we cannot board the ship until 2:30 PM at the earliest. How close is the train station to the ship? I understand some cruise lines allow you to check luggage on the train and it will automatically transfer to that particular ship. Is this true for Celebrity?

  4. We are headed to Alaska on the Millennium and understand that $16.45 pp/pd will be added to our bill for gratuities. We did not prepay the gratuities, thus I assume they will be on my bill at the end of the cruise. If service is good, is there an expectation for additional tips beyond the $16.45 pp/pd?
