  1. Hi we leave for our first Cunard cruise next week on the Queen Mary and need some help re Queens Grill and any other insider tips on all things Cunard you can give me.

    Specifically with the bar set up does it get replenished? Or is it a one time deal. Does the boarding time advised really mean that time? We have 1pm and wonder if we can board earlier as we will have left our hotel.

    Many thanks

    Jeanette

    Yes that's the advertising showing on NZ TV at the moment - we hadn't noticed as we never watch the adds - but my partner backed up the recording so we could have a look - the page has the same image https://www.cunard.com/en-au/cruise-deals/explore-in-style

    My issue with it is that

    a) I'm over 30

    b) I'm over a size 6 (or 1 in US sizes)

    c) none of those beautiful peopple are actually doing anything - they aren't dancing on the ship - they aren't walking on land -  and if they tried to the clothes they have on wouldn't help.

    I'm seriously thinking about doing a set of photos of what real style is for us old fat people!

    Hi Lissie Good for you. I found the clip a bit off putting. We are on the same trip as you I think to Capetown?? Also from New Zealand. First time on Cunard and based on the clip wondering how we would fit in. Jeanette

    Agree completely....wrote an email to Princess late last week to see if they could confirm that furniture is being removed from their ship staterooms.

    Received a call today from their corporate office and the CSR confirmed that they are indeed removing the chair and table from standard and balcony cabins to "create more living space" for their passengers on their ships fleet wide.

    I told her that I thought that reason rang hollow because there will only be one small chair in a balcony cabin now and it creates less living options for passengers.

    I also told her that it would seem that they could put a less substantial chair in the room with arms so that people who need assistance sitting in a chair when dressing could easily get up.

    She did say that they are tracking emails, letters and calls about this new policy and they are being forwarded up the Princess corporate chain.

    We have been long time Princess cruisers but I indicated to her that when we book a cruise now we will be forced to look at other cruise lines to see what type of comfort our money will buy us.  We do not want to do that but we will if there is only one chair in a balcony or premium balcony room,  😞

    Hi Like you I have emailed and am waiting on a response. On the Sapphire from March 10 for 27 days so want a chair if there is one available. I am not young but not old and have had knee replacements so a chair with arms is more comfortable than just the bed.

    Close but not exactly as it implies that Cointreau is in the same amounts as the other ingredients.

    ==================

    Chairman of the Board

    3 parts Grey Goose Vodka
    3 parts Bombay Sapphire Gin
    1 part Cointreau
    Chilled over ice and strained

    ==================

    I agree this is a great drink! Some get it with olives but I always have it with a twist. Today is Thursday. We sail on Saturday. Guess what I will order for my sail away drink. :classic_biggrin:

    Totally agree with a twist is the way too go. Has spoiled the old Gin and tonic for me though!! We sail next March counting the days!!

  5. Hi We are booked on a Med cruise in September aboard the Pacific Princess. Any thoughts /advice as we have not sailed on a small ship previously. Where do the Platinum/Elite passengers meet in the evening?

    What dining time is preferable as there in not anytime dining. Currently seems a little early at 6pm. Has anyone been in cabin 6004?

    Thanks

    Jeanette

  6. Hi

    We are taking a cruise later this year in the Med on the Pacific Princess. As this ship does not have Anytime Dining I would appreciate thoughts on early or late sittings. Given the choice we would do anytime and eat around 7pm. So thoughts? Jeanette:)
