  1. Do check the status and see where it is located/being processed...you can look the location code up online. There are many Facebook groups dedicated to passports with many tips and ideas...but the best idea I found was to "plan" travel well before my actual departure date and buy a refundable ticket on Southwest or some other fully refundable ticket and then obtain an in person appointment 2 weeks before that (after allowing some time for processing of your application just in case). Then you can cancel your refundable ticket after your passport is in hand. This was how I consoled myself when I was a nervous wreck. Did not need to do it obviously but just an idea should things drag on too long!

  2. I just renewed ours in June and freaked out when I saw the timelines go up and up. Thus  I obsessed and obsessed- here is what I learned-expedite from the start- I did not. If the time gets close and still no passport then you will need to call- at least for now-and get an appointment at a passport office- near you hopefully- and you can get passport same day.  Mine took about 4-5 weeks non-expedited- husbands took about the same when I expedited after the fact. Also I emailed them- several different addresses- repeatedly. That seemed to help. Good luck and do not give up.

Just got off the Nieuw Amsterdam- all was well with one azipod- had a clear view in an aft cabin.  The times in ports were shortened somewhat which was most annoying in Grand Cayman but otherwise it was fine.  We attended ask the captain and he said he went to see the spare azipod in Freeport the week of the cancelled cruise and then plan is to take the ship out of service for a week in February- did not specify which week -and put the "spare" azipod on. They will then repair the motor on the old damaged azipod and reinstall it when they go to dry dock in 2021.

     

    The read outs in the Crow's Nest were taken down- visible when the cruise began but absent towards the end.

  4. I searched but couldn't find an answer- we have 2 cabins with OBC for each- one cabin of teens and one for us. Will they pool all of the credit together so we all have access to the total amount? Or does it stay with each cabin?

  5. I had the same thing happen with my Christmas cruise. My TA got 5 of our cabins upgraded- for free- from a veranda to a C2. We still had 3 inside cabins with teenagers. I called Celebrity and asked what if...and they explained that in order to move the insides- we could pay to upgrade. So we did. We were able to pay the extra amount- and had to be with perks- and they moved them to c2 also. He said you can upgrade but you have to pay the difference. I am not sure if this helps you or not- but this just happened last week. So, if there is an upgrade available- even for a few $$ more- it should be doable. I think we only got the bump for free because we booked so many cabins perhaps. Good luck! I have now stopped looking at the prices since the last upgrade because I don't want to be annoyed.

  6. We are cruising on the Equinox holiday cruise- and realized last night there has been a significant price drop-more than $400 each- final payment was a few weeks ago. There are 16 of us in 8 cabins so I decided it wouldn't hurt to call our TA and ask. He originally reported back that the only option was an upgrade to a 1A-we were in a 1C. But, we have 3 cabins of teenagers that we needed to be directly across from. I called back and asked him to try again. Of course I know they don't have to do anything, the price could have gone up, etc, but if you don't ask the answer will always be no. He agreed to try again and called back to say our 5 verandas were upgraded to concierge class and there was magically the right inside cabins directly across. It looks like there were many cancellations so there are a lot of open cabins. Anyway, this was a pleasant surprise. Any concierge hints?
