  1. Looking at Princess ship excursions out of Christchurch, New Zealand for next year. Has anyone taken the Erewhon HIgh-Country Station excursion? If so, your opinion please. Since it is a 2 1/2 hour bus ride, are there rest rooms on the bus and are there rest room stops along the way?

I see we are on the same cruise. We met on the 2009 Australia & New Zealand cruise on the Diamond Princess. We look forward to seeing you and Holli once again. Joe & Kathy

  3. My wife and I will be on the 12-day British Isles cruise from Dublin on June 21, 2019. My question is pertaining to the tours offered by Princess out of Southampton. Has anyone ever taken the "London City Drive" excursion. From reading the information on the excursion, it seems you stay on the bus for touring and only get off for lunch at a local pub. If anyone has ever taken this excursion, will you have opportunities to get off of the bus at different locations for photos. Your opinion on this excursion will be greatly appreciated.

  5. We will be on both with you, as well as the previous Mexican Riviera:D

Nice to have you on our two cruises. I noticed your three cruises total 32 days, which I am sure you will definitely enjoy. Will this be your longest time on a cruise ship? My wife and I just can back from a 17-day Transatlantic, combined with a 21-day Mediterranean on the Royal Princess. When we booked the two cruises, we weren't sure we could handle 38 days on a ship, but boy were we wrong. The time on the ship seemed to fly by. We have had 29 cruises with Princess so far, but this last one was by far the longest.

  6. What dining rooms are used on the Royal Princess for "Traditional Dining" and "Anytime Dining"? I am assuming that if you had "Club Class Dining", it would be in the "Anytime Dining " room. For those of you who had "Club Class Dining" and had a suite, did you request it before the cruise or asked the Maitre d' once onboard. I now have "Traditional Dining" but am considering "Club Class Dining". Any information would be greatly appreciated.

  7. I believe I read a while back on this forum, that if you were traveling on Delta Airlines, they actually had a baggage check-in counter at the port when you disembarked. They would take your baggage there, check it for your appropriate flight, and take it to the airport for you, and you would then get it at your destination city.

If Delta Airlines still provides this service or if anyone has used this service, I would appreciate any information that you may have.

    Thank you

  8. The ships are usually unloading by 6a.

Thank you Budget Queen for the disembarkation time.

If anyone is familiar with Princess transfers to the Barcelona airport, could you please tell me how that worked out for you. I have read that you need to be at the airport 3 hours before an international flight, and quite a few passengers inquire about taking a cab to the airport. Still interested if you take your luggage to the airport with you on the bus, or in the case of Delta Airlines, do they check it at the port, and take it separately to the airport.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

  9.

I believe I read last year, that if you are on a Princess cruise arriving in Barcelona, and using Delta Airlines for your return flight home, that Delta Airlines has a baggage check-in counter at the port when you disembark, to help make the transfer of luggage to the airport more convenient. If anyone has experienced this service recently, would you kindly comment please. Also, if you may have had a 10:25 am flight to Atlanta, did you have any issues making it to the airport on time using Princess transfers, and checking in at the airport. If the ship arrives at 5:00am, when does Princess usually start disembarkation, and sending passengers to the airport.

  10. Has anyone heard if the soot issues on the aft suites of the Royal Princess will be corrected during their dry dock this year. Hopefully, they will make some attempt, since they are the most expensive cabins on the ship. Will anything else be done to the ship, except routine warranty work?

  11. I can recommend to Bosphorus Tour. Meet at Cruise Ship Port and Continue for the tour. How much time you have for a tour?

There are half-day or full-day tour.

    Definitely recommended full-day tour.

    Hello,

It will be a half day tour. It is a morning breakfast cruise, which also includes the sites of Istanbul. Any idea what they normally serve on the breakfast cruise? Looking forward to visiting Istanbul, but hope the recent terrorism attacks don't cause the cruise line to cancel the port of call.

  12. Yes, we were fortunate to get the All-Inclusive Beverage Package as a promotion for our upcoming 28-day Mediterranean cruise on the Royal. It is valued at $ 1,577.80 per person, for both my wife and I. There is no way we would ever drink that much, but with liquor, beer, wine, coffee, water and on the Royal, gelato included, that will be a real savings for sure.

  13. Thank you for the information

I have not stayed at the Hotel Claris yet, but based on location would find it an excellent choice. This is right in the heart of the Guadi sites and you have easy access to Segrada Familja and Parc Guell

Five star Barcelona hotels are always so hit and miss in my opinion and I think many guests have a little too high expectations and then they leave not satisfied. I take another strategy and always consider 'value' I find these 5 star alternatives often to not be that much more expensive than their 4 star counterparts and just take the 'risk'

I have stayed a few times with Casa Fuster a little farther up and I am always really happy there. The Eixample is the absolute best district in Barcelona and I would only choose to stay there myself.

I personally could and would walk from this area to La Rambla if I choose to even though I much prefer to just stay up in the Eixample and enjoy that district. Otherwise the Rambla district is just a short taxi or metro away.

Restaurants abound in every district of Barcelona and you will have no problem near the hotel or venturing a small distance.

  14. Gelato is not included with the coffee card except as a punch on the card just like the specialty coffees.

Yes, I did understand that Princess did in fact punch your coffee card, in order to get a gelato. Since AlaskaGolden said gelato is included in the complimentary All-Inclusive Beverage Package, this onboard promotion just got even better.

  15.

Taking a Mediterranean cruise on the Royal Princess next year, and have the complimentary AIBP. If you purchased the Coffee Card, you are able to include gelato with that card. Wondering since this package includes all beverages priced at $10 or less, and includes the same beverages as the Coffee Card, if gelato would be included too. An article from the Cruise Critic, stated that any food items usually included with the Coffee Card, like crepes and gelato would be included. Since I haven't noticed any postings confirming that, I would appreciate hearing from those who might have experienced using their AIBP to purchase gelato.
