To All:
1. As I said above, I can understand PC being a homeport.
2. As far as visiting Disney, etc., it seems like too much of a rush, between the bus ride and getting on and off the ship.
3. To each their own :)
My last cruise was out of Miami (with friends), so I had to get up at 3:30 AM to make our flight. This time I am going Carnival out of Baltimore, which will be a thirty minute drive. I intend to do one of the Grand Turk, Half Moon, Nassau cruises, probably after April to avoid cold days.....

Personally----I do not get Port Canaveral as a cruise stop. (As a homeport for a cruise ship, I understand.) I would rather spend the day in the Bahamas or even at sea. Am I just being too hard on the place?? I guess Key West is out of range from Baltimore and New York?
Come on folks, tell me why I am wrong.

I barely remember it. We went from Bremerhaven, Germany to New York. I remember the cabin, heavy doors (well, to a four-year-old), and good food. I can not remember getting on the ship, but I have a clear memory of walking down the gangplank getting off. It was 1959 (you all don't tell anyone, okay?).:)

I got a lifelong love of Rum Slings and/or Singapore Slings.

Like so many others, it was a high school trip for me. I was 16 and I had a ball.
We must have had some trusting teachers, because past the three mile limit we could drink. Surprisingly (?) no one made an ass of him or herself. Some of us rented motorcycles in Nassau---more fun. The food was great. The cabin was spare, but spotless. I still have the pictures from the cruise. It was a four-night cruise costing $139.
We hardly slept. When our charter bus got back to Chattanooga, our parents were in disbelief that a busload of high schoolers could be that quiet. :)
