  1. On the S-class ships, the mid-ship cabins that are on the "angle" of the hump, either facing forward or facing aft have larger a larger balcony than the regular veranda cabins on the sides of the ship. Depending on the deck, those cabins are either prime concierge (deck 9 & 10 aft facing), deluxe veranda (decks 7 & 8 forward and aft facing, deck 9 forward facing) or prime aquaclass (deck 11 forward facing). The largest balconies are the 1st and 3rd cabins off the straight portion of the hump. For example, the balcony for 9292 is larger than 9296 which is larger than 9294 and 9298. The cabins themselves are the same size regardless of the location or the category.

If you have an interest in the accumulation of Captain's Club points, you receive 5 points/night for AQ and Concierge cabins whereas you receive 3 points/night for veranda cabins.

We will be going on our first Celebrity Cruise in a Veranda stateroom and have the Classic beverage package.  I understand that bottled water is included in the Classic package.  I drink a lot of water.  Does our room attendant bring bottles of water to our stateroom or is there someplace I need to go pick up the bottled water so that I have 6-8 bottles available in my cabin?

I generally pick up water at Cafe Al Bacio and take it back to my cabin.

I ask my cabin attendant to empty the mini-fridge the first day so we can keep water and other beverages chilled.

  3. Celebrity’s Best price Guarantee policy is explained here:

    https://www.celebritycruises.com/company/customer-support/best-price-guarantee

“For a request submitted after the due date of final payment AND the booking is within 48 hours from creation, the following applies:

Request for a Lower Cruise Fare

Celebrity will apply an onboard credit to the booking in the amount of 100% of the difference in price.

Request to Add or Change an Added Value Offer

Celebrity will 1) apply an Added Value Offer to booking and 2) go to prevailing eligible cruise fare

NOTE: If either the new cruise fare or Added Value Offer is not combinable with any promotion associated with the existing booking, or changes are being made outside of promotional booking window, the existing promotion will be removed from the booking. No refund or exchange will be given on a promotion offer (added value)

NOTE: An Added Value Offer refers to an amenity added to your booking, such as an onboard credit, specialty dining, shore excursion, etc.”

  4. There is a policy regarding price adjustments after final payment -

    this is an excerpt:

For a request submitted after the due date of final payment AND the booking is within 48 hours from creation, the following applies:

Request for a Lower Cruise Fare

Celebrity will apply an onboard credit to the booking in the amount of 100% of the difference in price.

Request to Add or Change an Added Value Offer

Celebrity will 1) apply an Added Value Offer to booking and 2) go to prevailing eligible cruise fare”

The entire policy can be found here:https://www.celebritycruises.com/company/customer-support/best-price-guarantee

Did you try the re-emerging your cruise reservation number?

I am not sure what you are asking

I can see my reservations in my account when I am logged in. And I can search for flights by accessing Flight by Celebrity through “Manage Reservation”.

However, it is no longer possible to get to Flights by Celebrity through a “dummy booking” or the Flights by Celebrity link without accessing my reservation. In the past, I aaa able to search for flights without actually being in my reservation, which was important when I was trying to check on flight availability and pricing after having booked flights.

I am guessing that this is a result of the cruise being sold out/oversold.  But I don’t know whether that is, in fact, the explanation.

Has anyone else been unable to access Flights by Celebrity from the website when the cruise isn’t visible on the Celebrity website and you aren’t logged in your account and without creating a dummy booking.

We have also used AIG TravelGuard for many years and have always been happy with their service. One feature we like is that they offer a waiver for pre-existing conditions if the policy is purchased within approximately 2 weeks (can't remember exact number of days) from the time that the cruise was booked. We had to cancel a cruise once due to a major illness and successfully filed a claim. In 2020, we had a land trip cancelled by the tour operator when Covid caused countries to ban travel. The tour operator refunded our money and TravelGuard gave us a voucher for the amount of the policy which we were able to use when we rebooked our trip for 2022.

The policies that the Trip Insurance Store offers also provide for a waiver of pre-exiting condition if purchased soon after booking. Having just done this, the window was on the order of 20-21 days.

  7. I have purchased insurance through TripInsuranceStore.com. I generally enter my cruise info on their website so that i can see my options. I then call and ask any questions I have about the policies and finalize my purchase over the phone. I have worked with Steve, Deanna and Kim for years and have always been happy with their service. Two points of information that are worth mentioning: When I purchase the policy, I paid for the minimum amount of insurance (typically $500 pp) so that my nonrefundable deposit was covered, and I added insurance coverage as I incurred additional nonrefundable expenses. We were also able to transfer the insurance policy from one cruise to another, when we decided to cancel a cruise (prior to final payment) and book a different cruise. I highly recommend checking their website (tripinsurancestore.com) and calling them (888-407-3854) if you are investigating your options.

One interesting datapoint, we were considering flying in from different locations due to a work trip.  We searched international flights by X which defaulted to two adults, found a flight we wanted for me...Realizing it for two, we dropped it to one adult hoping for the same per person price, nope!  The outbound flight was 3x and the return was 2x, yet X recommended different flights as they were cheaper

We did wonder but did not try, what if we booked the 2 adults with the lower fare online and call X to cancel one, what would the price be?  You can cancel flights by X flights within 24 hours for a full refund without a cancel/change fee

When actually booking flights through the “Manage Reservation”, you have to select the passengers so you could book flights for one passenger at a time.

if you book flights that say “no risk”, you can cancel anytime prior to final payment and no money is owed. If you make final payment and then cancel flights, I believe the penalty if $200 pp.

On our next sailing, there's only me and my girl, we both have flights by celebrity booked and can still search different flights when logged in.  We can also use the "view itinerary" option if not logged in.  I'm WAG ("Wild A$$ Guess") is we cannot actually book them online and would need to call

Thank you! I will try that approach. In the past, after I booked flights, I still wanted to see if something better/cheaper came available. So the ability to create a quote was useful.

I never had a cruise (actually two cruises) disappear from the website before. So, that has me scratching my head.

You should apply for a card with generous travel rewards...Even if you never shop at Costco, thanks to the popularity of Costco you get some great rewards and no annual fee with the Citi Costco...4% back on gas and 3% back on BOTH travel and dining

    image.thumb.png.a09ebef2572b2af6894ecaf378ccd8ad.png

And generous shop card for bookings made with or transferred to them (within 30 days of booking online).

Yes, because Celebrity gives you the option to book your airfare at the same time you book your cruise on line for those that like to do one-stop shopping.

Do a search for your sailing in Celebrity's reservation system, click on the "View Itinerary" button instead of the "Book Now" button, scroll all the way to the bottom of the itinerary page until you see the screenshot below.  Click on "Get A Quote" and you are on your way.  The only thing you have to be aware is that any FBC promotions that are in effect will show up in your quote which may have been different than when you actually booked.  Fortunately, the discounts from the promotions are usually spelled out pretty clearly in the air fare.

In some situations, the “Get a Quote” approach doesn’t work, as I just discovered  this week. Two of my upcoming cruises are not showing up on the celebrity website so the “Get a Quote” doesn’t work. You can only see flights by working through your cruise reservation’s “Manage Reservation” link. I am wondering whether, once flights have been added to your reservation, the only way to “see” new alternative flights is to call Flights by Celebrity.  I hope that isn’t the case.

Are the flights any cheaper when booked thru Celebrity?  I always book our own, I like having full control over seat and section selection, as well as making sure I get my FF miles.

In the past, I found that coach tickets were not cheaper when booked through Flights by Celebrity. However, the savings on Business Class tickets has been significant. Being able to cancel or change flights prior to final payment, and not having to pay for the airline tickets until final payment has been a big reason for purchasing airline tickets through Flights by Celebrity. We have been able to connect the reservations to our frequent flyer accounts and select seats through the airline website too. It has worked well for us in most respects. The only downside for me was not being able to use my airline credit card to pay for the tickets because my TA doesn't accept AMEX. But I can live with that minor issue.

Jumping into this thread because could not find another that addressed my question.  We hoped to book flights through Celebrity for a cruise next year.  But all I can find searching on Celebrity website is United Airlines.  We would be flying from IAH (Houston) to SCL (Santiago, Chile) and returning from Buenos Aires.  American Airlines has great flights for this trip but Celebrity offers booking only with United.  Does Celebrity not partner with American Airlines?

The airline and flight options change often closer to your sailing date. I have had that experience more than once. I changed flight reservations a number of times for some cruises, moving from one airline to another because of new options.

I have just started looking for flights for next March/April. Only Air Canada and United flights are available at this time. I am confident that American Airlines and Delta flights will be available at some point.

Be prepared to check for better flights and lower fares. The problem I have run into in the past is that the Flights by Celebrity website didn’t display real time pricing. So, a phone call was always necessary to confirm availability of flights/fares. Quite often, the fare shown on the website wasn’t available when I called Flights by Celebrity. But persistence paid off and I was able to get the flights I wanted for each of my cruises.

  15. We booked a transfer from the port to our hotel in Rome with RomeCabs. The cost of a transfer from the port to either a hotel in Rome or the airport starts at 140 Euros for 1-2 people. If you get one more couple to share the ride, it brings down the cost per person a lot as a transfer for 4 people is 150 Euros. This is their website: https://www.romecabs.com/ and the transfer page can be found here: https://www.romecabs.com/transferservice/civitavecchia/

We asked to be picked up at 9 AM so we can enjoy breakfast without feeling rushed. It appears that the ride will take approximately 1 1/2 hours.

  16. My recollection of the Persian garden on Constellation was that tut was nothing like the Persian Garden on the S-class ships. There were no individual hot tile beds, only a continuous bench in a windowless space. We looked at it and never used it during our cruise in 2019.

I don’t know if the Persian Garden has been revamped during the updating of the M-class ships. Perhaps someone can provide details here.

Does anyone have the most current phone number for Celebrity's Captain's Club? Thank you in advance.

I have another phone number saved on my phone, in addition to the one already provided.  That number is: 1 (800) 556-8209.  I don’t know why I have multiple phone numbers but keep it, just in case.

  18. As previously mentioned, the A1 cabins on Constellation and Summit are on deck 11.  I can't speak for the other M-class ships since I haven't sailed on them. The cabins on deck 11 were added after the ship was built so they are newer than the A2 cabins on deck 9.  We have been in 1138, a great aft cabin with an oversized balcony, on Constellation.  We are booked in the same cabin on Summit for an upcoming cruise.  We did not hear noise from the outdoor movies above while on Constellation.  And the sounds from the Sunset Bar on deck 10 were not heard inside the cabin.

  19. Is "Deal or No Deal" played only on Sea Days?  I see the cards are on sale in my cruise planner for an upcoming cruise and am interested in playing but....If the game is only played on Sea Days, it is not as appealing since we have only one Sea Day - and that is Day 7 of our cruise.  This leaves only two days on the ship following the Sea Day.

Can you play all 3 cards simultaneously?  Is there a benefit from doing that? I am guessing the cards are like bingo cards as they are preprinted with values, and each card will be different.  Right?

Are you able to use the cards only once? Or can you play the same card multiple times on the cruise?

    Thanks in advance for responses.

  20. We have sailed in Aqua Class on M-class and S-class ships. We really enjoy dinners in Blu.

We enjoy the Persian Gardens on the S-class ships but didn’t bother with it on the M-class ships.

if you have preferences for specific types of pillows, check out the pillow menu.  I request memory foam pillows as soon as I board the ship.

The heated no-fog mirror in the bathroom and body sprays in the shower are also nice features in the AQ cabins.

    Enjoy your cruise!

  21. A big concern re: cruises sailing from USA ports, in my mind, is the general infection rate in the state and city where the port is located.  Florida stands out as a problem as the infection rate remains high (albeit decreasing).  I am going to be canceling a cruise that is scheduled to depart from Tampa in March 2021.  Unfortunately, "lift and shift" is not an option.  If it were, I would take advantage of that option as I am hoping an effective vaccine will be approved in 2021 and broadly available by the end of 2021.

    image.png.af9d4ad664c7ffe7e1e1721048116fab.png

  22. The reasons we book aqua class cabins on M class ships are: dining in Blu, aft facing cabins on deck 11 with oversized balconies (loves our last cabin 1138!), much nicer shower with body sprays (like the aqua class shower on s class ships) and heated/no-fog mirror, captain’s club - 5 points/night (rather than 3 points/night in veranda). On s class ships, the additional huge benefit to AQ is Persian Garden access.  The Persian garden on M class ships pales by comparison - so we didn’t bother using that perk.
