I obviously have NO knowledge of MSC’s financial situation but if everyone demands a full cash refund it could put a great deal of financial strain on the company. If a company goes under, no one gets anything.

AS I SAID, I AM JUST GENERALISING AND AM NOT SPECULATING SPECIFICALLY ON MSC.

Anyone who has enjoyed a cruise in the past with MSC needs to support them. This is not their fault although I admit the level of communication has been poor. This situation has been so fluid and still continues to be.

Does anyone know if a FCC can be used if you book through a TA? Stay safe and hang in there.

I cancelled through my TA, and they said the FCC can be used through them or directly with the line.

and agree with your sentiments here as well.  this isnt their fault, and I am grateful that they gave me FCC past the cancellation deadline, otherwise I would get nothing.

    communication could be better.

I can't believe they are not stopping their cruises for 60 days like Princess. The majority of their passengers are European. Are they going to sail their ships in the Caribbean only 30% full??? And these Europeans can't get here because of things totally out of their control. They should dispute the charge with their credit card company.

I cancelled my trip to the Caribbean aboard meriviglia that was supposed to leave sunday, and I keep looking at the available rooms online, and they are still over 90% full.

I was able to call in this morning, it took around 40 minutes to answer the call. I inquired about the 20% discount applied to my booking ( for missed call at Ocean Cay last fall), they said that would be honored on my future reservation. I also asked about the Plusgrade fee I paid to upgrade, the amount of the upgrade cost will be added to the FCC, so essentially, 100% of everything I paid will go into a FCC. Anything extra like spa, internet, shore excursions will be refunded to credit card.

sorry to go OT here, but when you did the plusgrade, how much did you bid, and what room type did you get?

Currently booked for Fantastica (B2) balcony on Belissima in December.

In September, was offered $550 pp (minimum bid) to upgrade to Yacht Club Deluxe Suite.

So I bid $555 pp ( $5 over, just to not put us at the bottom against other minimum bidders) LOL

No response yet if we will or will not get upgrade.

No biggie if we don't get it...

This will be our first MSC cruise.  We are long term Princess cruisers with Platinum status. We got Gold match with MSC.

    Stay tuned!

so did your bid get accepted?  I am cruising meriviglia in March and received the plusgrade email. I currently have a fantastica balcony booked. The min bid was $540pp for yc deluxe suite. I put in a bid for $550.

I think I rem pricing the yc balcony at about $5k. 3 people In The room) and paid 2,400 for the fantastica balcony. So that would make the cost for the yc balcony at about 3500 if I win the bid.  So seems like a good deal to me if I get it...
