Here is a PDF I downloaded previously about Balls. It is from 2013 but I am sure things haven't changed too much

Just booked $300 of OBC for £194.85 = 1.5396 exchange rate for a cruise in November but booked in April.

I was on the 3rd Nov sailing from Southampton with a specified embarkation time of 1430hrs. Being a first time cruiser I was over cautious and arrived at 1130!
By 1230 I was in my cabin with my luggage already arrived.
A very impressive start to the cruise

Hi All,
Well I have taken the plunge and booked myself on the Queen Victoria in November 2015 to celebrate my 50th.
This will be my first ever cruise and my first holiday as a solo, unless I get a weekend break away somewhere inbetween.
I am fairly nervous as I am not a natural conversationalist until I know someone quite well, but I have booked to be on a large dining table so I am hoping that will help me get started.

I have just rung Cunard about OBC for my cruise on QV in November 2015 and they have given me $50 OBC for being ex-military with the British Army.
I just need proof of service when I board which will have to be my Certificate of Discharge.
That will at least pay the first 4.5 days of the daily Gratuity so I am more than happy. :)

Are solo cruisers being discriminated by CUNARD?

Just to add some good news: Cunard UK have allowed me to amend my booking to add a travelling companion to my Solo booking without losing my deposit. It cost me an extra £199 for the second person on the 12 day Canary cruise in December :D
