  1. We spent 13 nights on Vision around 18 months ago. We also did the Xmas cruise last year on Splendour and we've booked to do it again this Xmas on Vision. So I guess that tells you that we had a fantastic time.

I do wish we were having a slightly different itinerary this time but at least we know what to expect and can always try and do alternative tours etc.

Vision is a great ship, nice compact size and well laid out. The cabins are dated, there's no getting away from that. But as others have said, it's well maintained and the crew are excellent. Looking forward to being on board again.

Christmas on Splendor last year was so much fun we just had to do it again. :D

  2. I'm a single young professional (32) and I LOVE cruising! Been on 3 voyages in the past 18 months since I discovered how pleasuarable a vacation it is.

Trouble is, only been away with my mother which is not exactly cool. :p

I really need to find a like-minded young man to plan some trips with. :D

  3. I'm still reading along! When I was in Turkey, a group of us hired a private van, great tour but at the end we stopped at a rug shop. Is this a prerequisite for every tour in Turkey, I wonder?

If you are taken to the carpet shop, you could always not go in and do your own thing instead. You could explore the indoor market and it's a short walk back to the ship.

I wish we'd done this last year as we hated the sales pitch from the carper store owner.

  4. We just got off the Vision yesterday as well and as sassyb69 said, the storm we hit coming into Barcelona on Thursday night (early hours of Friday morning) was rough! We were on deck 2 pretty far fwd n we were getting rocked and bashed in our beds and not much sleep!

Aside from this, we really loved our 13 nights it was an awesome holiday. The ship is lovely especially in the dining rooms and public areas. The service from our waiters was exceptional. We loved the Solarium as it was child free and was a great place to escape the breeze on the deck especially on sailing days. They serve decent food in the Park Cafe too.

The cabins are very dated but u get used to it after a while and tbh we never spent that much time in there except to get changed and sleep. Our housekeeper Ery was amazing - those guys were working tirelessly every single day!

The biggest issues were the 2 occasions where we tendered and there were some major hold ups for people wanting to get off but hadn't booked an excurion - this is something they need to get right in future as it was porly organised.

Mercedes the CD was great, very funny and entertaining - we thought she did a great job. Apart from the entertainment in the theater each night which was very hit and miss. I enjoyed the Motown show, the classical pianist and the classical violinist. Apart from that it wasn't that great, although the 15 min ariel show in the centrum was really good.

Gutted our holiday is over - the blues have well and truly kicked in.

  5. As far as motion is concerned, the lower the deck the better. Also, the closer to mid-ship, the better. While your cabin isn't perfectly centered, it's not far off. Unless you know that you're particularly susceptible to motion sickness, I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks John, I feel a bit better now, we're just a bit nervous and not sure what to expect. It's a lot of money to spend and not be satisfied - fingers crossed everything will be great. :o :p

  6.

Hey all we go our first ever cruise in a few days on the Jade. My mum booked a last minute deal and the TA has booked us in to the very front cabin on deck 4. Room no. is 4550.

We feel duped by the TA as we weren't aware of the position of the cabin as initially offered one on deck 7.

Are we gonna hate this cabin?? We are fearful of motion sickness and noise. I know we are under the theatre.

I don't think they should've book first timers in here should they? Any advice appreciated as we don't know what to do for the best. :(
