  1. Hi there! I haven't stayed in either of these,  but I stayed in the equivalent/one very similar of 12035 on the Dream. It wasn't bad,  but that door that leads out to the deck for the slide is very heavy and loud when it slams shut. Also,  if you're like us and decorate your door,  all your stuff goes flying anytime someone opens that door 🤣 Good news is that the spa floor smells amazing!

  2. On the Breeze a few weeks ago, I can tell you not a single word was said to anyone regarding enforcement in my earshot once we got out of the terminal. I was hesitant to say anything to people because I didn't want to put a damper on anyone else's vacation. I don't think I'll be quite as mousy on this next one...especially in elevators when you have those people who refuse to wait for the next one and instead push themselves into an already full one. I had far too many people climb into elevators with me with no mask on. People that sat down next to me in the casino with no drink or no cigarette with no mask on. People that sat down next to me in the theatre with no drink with no mask on. I mean...it's really a self-policing policy.

  3. I booked for my 2 daughters and myself for the Breeze in January. I've now convinced my mother to join us.  I plan on calling carnival,  but I'm curious if anyone here can tell me, will they let me move one of my girls to the second room or am I going to be stuck paying for my mother as a solo cruiser?

  4. Thanks y'all, I feel a little bit better about it all. I was on hold with Carnival for an hour to ask some of these questions before I gave up. Yes, I'm vaccinated. I sail 2 days before the test requirement, but we already had one booked for October before I decided to book this last minute one a few days ago. I'm usually a proactive planner and take my time getting all my ducks in a row and I threw myself in the deep end and booked myself on a cruise 8 days before it sails! 🤪 I need the vacation, but OMFG am I stressing myself out!

  5. Haven't sailed in a few years & booked a last minute MUCH needed cruise that sails in a few days. I have a few pretty stupid questions. I promise I tried to search for the answers!

I take several prescription medications. Do I need to bring them all in the original bottles? I mean, I figure I do, but that's kind of a pain. I usually have them in one of those Momaw organizers.

Since people try their hardest to sneak on alcohol and they are looking so hard for that, are they going to give me a hard time if I try to bring on a small bottle of dish soap to wash out my insulated water bottle & metal straws? I know that's probably a pretty stupid question too, but I'm a classic overthinker 🙃

I read that Carnival switched to Pepsi 🤢 Do they not have any Coke products on board at all? I know how stupid that sounded...but like can I not order a Jack and Coke at the bar?

  6. We're just off the Magic & I wondered all week long how they decided what dining room & table we would be assigned. We were in Cabin 12001, the furthest cabin forward on the highest deck with cabins. Our table was in the Southern Lights Dining table 555 room alllllll the way in the back of the room. We literally had to go from the very front of the ship to the very back of the ship every night for dinner. Not to mention since only a couple of floors actually go all the way through, it was always either take 2 elevators or take one elevator and walk down a floor. It was a little frustrating, but more than complaining....I just wondered if anyone knew how these things were assigned.

  7. The way I see it if you can't afford the drinks on board, you don't need them. Don't get me wrong.... I love to find ways to save money & I love a good deal, but not at the risk of breaking the rules. Personally, I think they need to crack down on the penalties for this. They tell you plain as day you can't bring things onboard...if you're caught doing it knowingly, there should be a stricter penalty.

  8. I wish we'd had clocks. I was always having to bug my husband about what time it was, but he of course just took it in stride. I agree with the poster who said it's frustrating not to have clocks easily accessible when everything is on a time frame...from food to activities to shops & ports.

As for the elusive Ship on a Stick...it pays to be married to a pop culture encyclopedia. After Day 2, we felt sorry for everyone else and stopped going to trivia. 3 Ships on a stick seemed ok, but a 4th would have just been greedy

  9. We got home today & I'll give you my 2 cents on the spa balcony. While the floor itself was quieter on deck 12, we were in 12001....the first cabin on the Starboard side & directly across from the gym. For the most part the gym didn't bother us, but there were a couple of nights when a hugely muscled gentleman was running on the treadmill ad every stride caused everything in my cabin to bounce. We didn't take much advantage of the actual balcony & I found that being that high up on the ship caused us to feel the motion of the ship more so than on the lower decks. Also, being able to get an elevator is a heck of a lot more difficult when you're staying over the Lido deck FYI. We've already decided we'll book Lido or lower from here on out.

  10. I read a few of your recent posts and I don't see that at all. I've never sailed Carnival so I don't know the answer to your question, but I did google and found another bar menu that does show some flavored vodkas. Remove the space in the link below.

Thank you. I'm probably just sensitive. I hate being told "this has been discussed a million times" when I ask a question. My theory is if that was the response to every questions (which in most cases it probably is) then what's the point of these boards in the first place?

    Goggling:

There are no flavored vodkas that I see, but it does say that all brands/varieties are not listed. If the Magic has a special martini bar, I would expect the flavored vodkas to be there. Although all a flavored vodka martini has in common with a normal dry (gin) martini, is the glass they are served in!

Thank you for your response. I've been on these boards for over 5 years but apparently I haven't learned the correct posting etiquette since every time I ask a questions I seem to get told I'm doing it wrong.

  12. To the OP (I refused to read many of the comments because everyone will have an opinion):

You know your child better than anyone. Will the world end if she misses a few days of school? Not likely. But be ready and willing to help her catch up her studies upon your return. We are looking at booking next January with all 5 of ours, including *gasp* a college student, 3 high schoolers & an elementary student. It is what it is. People will preach to you about the value of education, but as adults we also know that not every day of our academic careers was spent learning much of anything. We are planning the trip to coincide with MLK so that there is one less day they will be missing. I don't think missing 2 or 3 days of school will stunt their academic growth...just my opinion.

  13. Is there any way to see what liquors will be available at the bar on the Carnival Magic? I've recently discovered a delicious King Cake flavored vodka that I love, but I doubt they have it. I'm not interested in smuggling, though this would be the only thing that would tempt me. I'm just reaching here hoping maybe they'd have it.
