  1. We were one deck higher in M423. The Seawalk partially blocked views straight out. It was only a problem when trying to take pics in port. You might be OK, since you're lower. Not a problem with people if we were on the balcony. They just gave a quick wave and moved on.

  2. My husband and I did this tour on the Allure in February. We felt it was worth the money. As others have said, we were not allowed in the engine room, only the engine control room. We saw the galley, food storage areas, recycling area, engine control room, laundry, and backstage in the theatre, along with some crew areas. We had to go through security screenings a few times during the tour. The only food we had was some dessert samples in the galley. When we were on the bridge, Captain Johnny came in on one of his cycles, along with a live parrot. I had read that we would receive tote bags, but none were offered. I inquired at Guest Services, and 2 very nice bags were delivered to our cabin that afternoon.

  3. I know what you're saying. I never received any reminder notice that final payment was due. We had it marked on the calendar, so we paid it over the phone on time. The agent made sure we had the email confirmation of paid in full before he hung up. But, a reminder would have seemed appropriate.

  4. I also was able to book today, but needed to call to finish. Some reservations received 2 confirmation emails, followed by 2 cancellation emails. I never cancelled anything, but I guess problems arose when the show time conflicted with MTD reservations. They want a full 2 hours allowed for dinner. Once the MTD reservation for that evening was cancelled, the booking went through.

  5. This past January we flew from Chicago to Sydney to do the Princess Ultimate Australia 7 day cruisetour, followed by the 12 night Australia/New Zealand cruise on the Diamond. We loved it! We wanted to see as much as we could on our visit, knowing it was unlikely we would ever be back again. It's true, we sometimes only spent a half day in some of the cities, but we were there! I would rather get a short visit to places I've longed to see, than no visit at all. Yes, it was hot in Australia, but we expected that, and the buses and hotels always had air conditioning. It was much cooler in NZ. Didn't expect that, but easily layered up.

I'd say please consider doing this. I do not like being away from home for much longer than 3 weeks, so we felt this was a great choice for us. We did the land tour first because we felt the cruise would be more relaxing, and it was. We had calm seas the whole trip.

So just let Princess do the planning for you, and enjoy!

  6. Yes, all call buttons were pushed. And yes, we did try going up to 6 and higher, only to find large groups doing the same thing. There were several wheel chair passengers and their families that didn't have this as an option. Despite this frustration, I have to admit she's a beautiful ship. We loved the decor, atmosphere, and the piazza experience on the ship.

  7. Beat to death or not, we just got off the Royal, and the lack of stairs and room in the elevators is a deal breaker for us. It was so frustrating to get anywhere. Plus, we would often return from an excursion, enter the ship on deck 5, and watch the elevators come down to deck 6, then head back up! People were so upset about having difficulty catching an elevator. Believe me, it's a long walk up to deck 15!!
