Thanks for the review. It was very helpful and enjoyable.

I was recently there for the first time on a tour. We spent about two hours and it was not enough. There are flower markets, farmer's markets, markets for everything everywhere, as well as high end boutiques along the narrow streets of the old town. One shop specialized in beautiful ballet toe shoes which I took a photo of. Bakeries and cafes to stop for a coffee or lunch were plentiful. Baguettes were three for 2€, wonderful pastries. Next time I will plan a whole day in Aix.
Thanks for the info.

I have the compasses but only a pic of the first evening menu I think. Just a problem getting photos onto pc at the moment but hoping to do a full review asap. If you have specific questions I can check the compasses for you before then.
Thanks, Waterlegs. Do you remember if the MDR was open for lunch on embarkation day? I know the buffet is a madhouse and was hoping to avoid.

We have a couple of vegetarians in our party. I know that there will be several vegetarian options on the menu, but is there anything else we should know? I read something about an Indian menu on a different ship. Thanks.

I'm cruising from this Sunday so will try to post them on the forums.
Thanks, Paulie. I hope you have a wonderful cruise.

Original poster took my suggestion and posted on the RCI Board. :)
This link will take you to that thread.

Thanks for posting whilst on holiday. Your journal is definitely making me even more excited about taking this cruise in the fall.
Have you noticed if they have been offering any drink specials for those who don't buy the drinks package? On my last cruise they offered 10 drink tickets for a fixed price, about halfway through the cruise. I'm not sure if they are doing anything similar in Europe.
Someone on another thread posted a few Compasses. I think it was the day at sea where I saw that offer in the Compass.

Thank you!

I've read several posts from people who have the Compasses and say they will post. Cross your fingers that it will be soon. I am also anxious to see them.

Thank you so much for posting! Could you share your Cruise Compass and some menus?
Have a wonderful cruise!

I'm hiring a driver to take us from Marseille to Aix on June 12. There are six of us and we're just planning on wandering around for a while. How long did you spend in Aix and was it enough time?
Thanks.

Thank you for sharing your experiences. That was exactly what I was wanting to hear. I have read a lot of threads about the ferries not sailing and the trains being crowded. As much as I would like to charter the boat, I think we can save a lot of money and have a good experience by being flexible and going on our own. Thanks again.

We're going to be in Marseille on June 12 off of the RCL FoS. We are a group of six adults and teenagers. We're not really interested in doing a city tour on a bus, but I think we would enjoy doing a more active tour. Anyone have experience?
Thanks,
Donna

Hi all,
We're a family of 6 adults/teenagers arriving on the RCL FoS on June 14. I am interested in exploring the Cinque Terre. I found a boat tour that will take us down the coast and let us get off to explore one of the cities; that tour sounds ideal but it's fairly expensive. I was exploring other options including taking the train or the ferry and doing it on our own. I would love to see the coast from the water and maybe spend some time swimming or snorkeling. Although I would enjoy hiking between at least one of the cities, there are several in our party who probably don't want to. Anyone have any experience or ideas?
Thanks,
Donna

I received two emails from Jany yesterday.

Any updates to this topic? I'm on the Carnival Legend in March with my husband and 18 year old daughter. She doesn't really snorkel and would prefer more beach time.
