  1. We have done the cheers program every cruise we have gone on since they started it, and we noticed are onboard expenses are lower... If you like to drink on vacation, you figure a Bloody Mary or Mimosa at breakfast, fruity drinks during the day, wine or cocktail with dinner, then cocktails at the shows or club, and it is a wash!! Enjoy your Cruise!!!

I could not agree with you more. We used it on the Fascination in March and even on port days it still worked. I just made sure I ordered the expensive dinner wine ;) and I think Cheers cost more then. We're headed on the Dream next April and Cheers (as well as Bottmless Bubbles for our teens) will be part of the plan!

  2. This is such all great advice. I know many people say not to do Jamaica alone but I really wanted to do Drs. Cave Beach, the Hip Strip and Margaritaville. I do need to do more research. I definitely want Mr. Sanchos. I was going to head there and then to San Miguel but someone told me that San Miguel wasn't necessary so I need to take that into consideration too. I love hearing the things you're all doing!!!

  3. I'm leaning that way myself. We were on Fascination in March of this year and booked Atlantis, however that whole trip was paid for by my husbands company. Was it beautiful? Yes. But would I have paid that $700 for the 5 of us out of my own pocket? No way. It just wasn't worth it. Thinking I could get more bank for my buck on my own. Especially since this cruise is coming out of our pocket!!!

  4. Going on the Dream in early April and trying to decide what to do in port (Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel) and was just curious...do most of you venture out on your own or do you usually book excursions through the ship?

  5. On my first cruise in 1980, for some reason we had felt hats with feathers at dinner. The next day was a costume party. Carnival left crepe paper in our room to help us make costumes. I was with 7 other girls so we used to hats to make Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs costumes. We won the costume contest! Guess that's a thing of the past!

And funny that the motion of the ocean was mentioned. This year I took my second cruise - 34 years later. I kept telling my family (who have never been on one) how hard it is to walk and how queasy you could get. They looked at me like I'd lost my mind in e we set sail! I had no idea that had changed lol!

  6. Thanks so much! We leave out of Nola so I think that's central time too. If I do both I wouldn't purchase all inclusive. I hear that you can just pay a la carte. I have a 18, 15, and 12 year old so I need to figure out what would work best. They may not even want to shop! Anyway, I appreciate the replies...I just discovered this site. It's much more helpful than other places I've tried :)

  7. Hi there! We will be in Cozumel in April and I was wondering if it would be possible to go to San Miguel for awhile then head to Mr. Sanchos. Not sure how close one area is to another. Our ship will be in port from 10-6. Couldn't really decide witch to do so hoping both would work. Any help is appreciated! 😀
