  1. We’ve booked a cruise on the Explorer in August. I’ve struggled to find much information on kids clubs and activities on the ship. My children will be 10 and 12 at the time on sailing.

We’ve previously cruised with Disney & Royal Carribean who both had lots of groups for kids according to their age right up to late teens obviously with more freedom etc as they get older.

Looking at Marella it seems that things for kids stop at 11. Can any previous cruisers help with how their children have enjoyed the cruises? My kids like the pools, shows etc but just wonder if the 12 year old might get a bit bored & the 10 year old won’t want to go to any clubs if her brother is always with us.

  2. Hi there

I've booked an outside cabin on the independence of the seas which is a category g. The only cabins in this category I believe which sleep 4 are located on deck 3. The cabin I've currently been assigned is 3260 which looks to be alongside Raven the disco.

Does anyone have any experience of this cabin or others within this grade? Any advice appreciated.

    Thanks

  3. If they have penguins then I'm happy!! Strange how no one else has mentioned them or posted pictures, which makes me suspicious of that review. Sounds like a marketing piece to me. No way was that written by an 8 yr old either!

I agree seems a bit marketing to me however if so it is more ammunition for those pursuing the issue with rccc

  4. Hi there

I'm also v disappointed that the characters won't be on the ship. Having been on Disney cruises with my kids they love the characters. Like everyone else they'd seen the advertising materials clearly showing that there would be dreamworks on the ship. I'm currently trying to manage expectations down & hope they'll be so overwhelmed on the ship they'll forget.

For the lady with the daughter who is less likely to forget I noticed something that might help slightly. There was an anthem review on cruise.co.uk by an 8 year old which mentioned the penguins of Madagascar. I guess not the dreamworks experience but might help.
