The light rail is coming, this is a case of cut the nose to save the face. They had to remove one to build the other because there was talk of the light rail going along the heavy rail line. I'm for the light rail,it will open the harbour up so much.

Just sayin, I live in Newcastle and I can promise there is so much to offer here and it really is a beautiful city and the surrounding areas are just amazing. Newcastle struggles a lot with development, they try to limit it to stay more boutique but it's backfiring and something needs to change. The airport is getting massive renos and even though they are limited because of the RAAF base it is being received really well by the actual people using it and a terminal would be the same. I view it similar to Cairns in what a proper terminal could offer our city.

We've been on it before so I'm sure we will, they're little so can't sleep on the top bunks so once they can do probably not mind as much if we had bunks but for now if I've got the choice I'm not going to.

No I don't want to sleep on bunk beds, it's not my thing, I'd prefer the spirit layout of a queen, sofa bed and a bunk over the sofa for my children. Aria does have that layout too but very limited cabins do it. We've decided on spirit as it appeals more to us,thanks for the advice.

Yeah I want the layout like Spirit, as in a queen bed and then a sofa bed with the bunk above it. I don't want a quad with the four single bunks in it.

Can anyone tell me the layout for how quad cabins will be on the Pacific Explorer? A quick search shows images of only double beds. I specifically want to know if it's a queen/twin, sofa, pullman configuration or twin bunks.

In '04 on my first cruise there was a staff member in the doorway to the buffet and MDR with the pump and you had to get some sanitiser before you entered. This year I watched as people in front of me backtracked to the machine after watching me wash my hands and obviously thinking they should do it too. I much prefer the forced way of thinking and a few complaints then the higher risk for the sake of those special snowflakes who think they are above hygiene.

This TA was specifically named being a specially of cruises, as in that was the name of this agency. If they don't know cruises then I'm generally concerned for people booking with them and hope they have some personal accountability to their own holiday to not take everything that's being told as gospel.

They have connecting cabins, we did that on spirit. LO in one room and us in another (booked as a solo adult and an adult and child) we had a monitor to see even though it was connecting. The extra space was great and being able to have lights, talk and flush the toilet were real highlights ;-)

I wouldn't even take a specific cruise agent as knowing their shizz, one specific agency I know of told a friend all drinks were included with P&O, she even confirmed they meant alcohol. Needless to say she was wrong and lucky the girl knew ahead.of her cruise.

Kids club was 9am-12 and 2-5 I think and 7am on shore days.

Mdr was like 730 or something. I remember it being too late for us as we had a two year old who woke at 5. The buffet had coffee and pastries from 530 I think and the a hot breakfast from 630 or similar.

They don't allow bookings on the entire cruise over a certain amount of ages per child for the kids club as in if the 2-6 age bracket can take 30 children than no more than 30 2-6 year olds can be booked onto the entire cruise as they need to be able to accommodate all children on the chance that they will all use kids club at the same time. When we booked one time the 14-17 age group was already booked out which meant if you had children of that age you couldn't go on that cruise.

There are no baby sitting services for children under 3 on P&O. Also no child with a swim nappy is permitted to go in the pools. I did a cruise with P&O when my daughter was under 3 and in a cot if you have any more questions.

They only do two, Carribean and Mexican and then formal nights.
