We have done 8 Alaskan cruises and ALL were in May, never had any issues, horrid weather can hit Alaska ANY month of the year but the BEST thing about May is the snow melt is in full force so waterfalls and rivers run high and fast, the mosquito's are not out yet AND its less expensive to cruise in May, especially the 1st 1 or 2 cruises

Princess does not acquire vaccines in the US or anywhere else. It does nor have vaccines and thus cannot send vaccines anywhere.
Local authorities acquire the vaccines and Princess then arranges when possible for the local authorities to do the inoculations.
and you know this how? The US government has distributed vax to many entities and now with a surplus of vax why would they not?

I have not, but my husband does for work, and I have friends that live there. The laws and consequences you mention are why you really can’t compare the success of Singaporean passenger cruises with American ones — Americans tend to be all about their personal freedoms, sometimes to the detriment of society
Yes its QUITE obvious you have not...Singaporeans are DEEPLY scared of their government which is exactly what the government wants and they do stay in line and outwardly present a very nice and compliant society.....because its THE CANE if they don't

Yes, places where people follow the protocols and don’t whine about their personal freedoms — like Singapore
You are correct...have you ever been to Singapore, its a VERY lovely city/state, great food, great sights and much more....including the death penalty for small amounts of drugs, barbaric caning for petty crimes and on and on....I think I'll keep my personal freedoms.

Absolutely not.
The UK government has not covered itself with glory over the CV19 crisis, but the vaccination programme has been pretty good. Anyone in the UK can be vaccinated, full stop.
Clear criteria as to priorities, so that over 50% of adults now are fully vaccinated, and 75% have received a first vaccine.
And no one can queue jump. So, no cruise line operating out of the UK can guarantee that their crew will be vaccinated - you cannot fly in 2000 crew members into the UK and expect them to be vaccinated - not going to happen.
But, as the US vaccination programme is falling well short of the required level for herd immunity, you won't be coming to Europe anytime soon!
You keep railing on and on AND ON about que jumping...Princess is a US based company and almost certainly acquire their vaccines in the US and send them out all over the world for its employees so I SERIOUSLY doubt your precious que will be jumped!, Princess will just start their own que.....

I researched this and found that some ports are state owned but not others. The local county governs the port. Some are governed by federal also. So the whole thing is a big chaotic mess!
Cruise ships DO NOT tie up at federal ports...and those under the jurisdiction of counites and cities will also have to comply with state mandates...

I think the cruise industry will find a way around the FL executive orders and I think the Gov of Florida will be quietly happy when they do. He will publicly oppose it for political purposes but behind closed doors be happy to be overruled and get back all the jobs and revenue from cruising.
When push comes to shove the almighty dollar will win out, and holding cruise lines to the current executive orders vs allowing vaccine validation will result in a fraction of cruises operating, if at all. This is too costly to too many people...I think something will give.
I agree...something will give, the cruise lines...RCI already has and the others including Princess will SOON follow as you say, they are way behind in chasing that almighty dollar!

If you upgrade on the ship, the person who does the upgrade will get a bonus from Celebrity. So pick a bar where you expect to spend your time and upgrade with that bartender. You'll get great service from him/her for the duration of the cruise.
This is true, every person you order a drink from on days 1 and 2 will try to upgrade you as they get a commission so as this post says, find the bar you prefer (ours is always the Martini Bar) and chat up one of the bartenders there and then upgrade from him....you will get PREMIUM service from him from then on....ours would even save us seats at the bar if possible or if full when we arrived we would get a table and then he would grab us 2 whenever someone got up to leave without us having to watch or lurk around the bar waiting

Not at all. I’m one of the “regular” passengers. I see many things I would love to have but can’t afford so I buy what’s within my budget.
If I’m out of place being myself then this will be not only our first, but also our last cruise with Celebrity. My husband and I don’t feel the need to try to impress others. I was initially concerned about giving Celebrity a try after reading some of the comments from people on this board. However it was cheaper than other cruises we were looking at so we decided to go for it. I was greatly relieved after chatting with people that will be on our cruise. It seems that vast majority are down to earth and friendly. Obviously all aren’t. If Celebrity doesn’t want people wearing ripped jeans on their ships, they can state that in their dress code. Or maybe they need to check with the snootiest of their passengers to get their approval first.
LOL good for you! You will be just fine and you will also not find any of the elitist attitudes some people post here once onboard....its just so much easier for them to critique and criticize hiding behind their keyboards....frankly once onboard nobody notices much of anything other than if their drinks aren't poured correctly....

We quite enjoy Domain Chandon when on the premium package as we have enjoyed their winery in Napa Valley many times, its truly one of the finest and nicest facilities in the Napa area and as it is owned by Chandon from France it is a very good Champagne and YES it is Champagne, to hell with the French and their laws LOL We have our Sommelier have a glass waiting on our MDR table when we arrive nightly and tell him the first night we will be having 2 to 3 glasses each prior to our red wine with dinner.....they always ensure there's a couple of fresh and properly chilled bottles for us nightly....a little planning with your Sommelier goes a long way for your enjoyment...that and a $20 tip on night 1!

Thanks for all the replies so far and if any have been forgotten please post it....I do have a question though, embarkation lunch in the MDR, it used to be advertised but you used to have to fight the staff to actually get in, what's the situation now, the same or has it been eliminated or did the throw in the towel and actually allow what they had previously sold you?

I do recall reading about the great butter conspiracy on here about a year or 2 ago! LOL And a French Bistro sounds good...is it?
more cabins are replacing public spaces...drink package is more expensive with more restrictions
coffee card now has a expiration date
butter is rationed...:halo:
Crooners replace by a French bistro

Looking for info on what's the latest and the greatest on Princess since I last sailed about 5 years ago as in the best promotions, the newest and best specialty restaurants or venues and pretty much any other inside info on Princess specifically on Emerald Princess but other ships secrets are fine too. I don't read these forums often any longer and haven't kept up on what's new.....thanks in advance!

So I guess you didn't see post # 111.

In reading this story in the Daily Mail - which tends to sensationalize the news but they do give a lot of information. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4734962/Federal-authorities-announce-charges-cruise-ship-death.html
It is very heartbreaking to hear about the women's death, her name, photo, job info and photos of her three children and husband.
What is sickening is the reaction of some of the passengers - Such as "Passengers were kept aboard the ship for much of the day Wednesday, prompting some grumbling," and "My kids were so bored.."
A sad commentary on our times.
Whats "sickening" about this? Do you stop your entire life every time someone in your city gets murdered....I too if onboard in Juneau, especially if I had never been there and maybe never going back having NOTHING to do with the investigation would be upset if kept sitting around all day for no reason.

You know, I'm worried that this will catch on in other areas of travel. I can see the airlines offering two different fares, one nonrefundable and one that is higher that is refundable. Then hotels will follow suit, offering two different prices for the same room, with the refundable price being higher than the nonrefundable price.
Have you not flown in a while, airlines and hotels have been doing this for YEARS.....you actually have it bassackwards, its the cruise lines copying it from airlines and hotels......

I LOVE being a game player...every time Princess offers a $1 down payments I book 6 or 7 cruises in the best aft cabins on the most popular cruises.....if anyone would like to bid on one of these cabins feel free to contact me, otherwise I usually release them a week or so prior to final payment but one thing I can say for sure...its FANTASTIC sailing in the best aft cabin staterooms for only a dollar down! hahahahaha.....:D:D:D

Princess ships are not fitted to grow sod so you will not be allowed to bring any onboard.....If you must have sod you will need to sail on Celebrities Solstice class which have full lawns of sod topside though you won't need to bring any onboard there either as they have all you will need onboard already. :halo:

I always ask the multiple TA's I use both real and online ones for prices and perks of any cruise I am planning. The best price and perks get my business, never buy a cruise without KNOWING what you will or won't be getting as for as gifts and OBC is concerned.

Nobody onboard cares what you are drinking or where you are drinking it as long as it was purchased onboard which is what you plan to do so don't worry about it. And NO there is no such policy stating that liquor purchased by the bottle must be consumed in your stateroom. Always be wary here for the posters who like to make up Princess policies to suit there own agenda.....
