May I ask how much per person was your accepted bid?
1005 per person on one the two most expensive 8 day cruises + 2200 original payment for the
obstructed balcony
-
I did not think it would work on an android device and your results might vary on a cruise ship
as far as Whatsapp it is using end to end encryption so privacy should not be an issue. Also
on Whatsapp you can do voice and video calling which works very well if your ship has good
internet like ob3 that Royal Caribbean uses
-
That is why I said whatsapp or imessage. When I am on vacation I only want to communicate with some
people so that eliminates the unwanted phone calls and text messages and also makes sure I do not
get unwanted charges on my cellular bill a win win situation
-
I do not know how but it happened, I used to sell cellular devices and have had it happen to customers that
swear that they had their data turned off and did not believe that they did but now I do. What I do now after
that cruise is put airplane mode on and use wifi only with whatsapp or imessage if people need to contact me they do it like that
-
Talking from experience turn on airplane mode and the enable wifi. I was on a cruise last year with voom and cellular data turned off and was checking on my store camera system before I went to sleep and got a text in the morning from my carrier that I have gone over my roaming data limit of 8GB at $15.00 a MB that could have been a bill for $120,000.00. When I was able to contact my carrier 2 days later I found out that they had put a limit of $100.00 of roaming data on all their customers since they have had the same issue many times before. Needless to say I was very relieved after two day of worrying.

I bid and was upgraded from an obstructed balcony on the Anthem of the Seas holiday 8 day
to a Sky Loft for much less than a junior suite. Free wifi, access to the concierge lounge (free drinks
from 4:30 to 8pm) bottle of champagne for new years. Plus all the other perks for me that was a great
deal
-
-
I have not been on the Anthem but was on the Quantum
and would rate them as follows
Coastal Kitchen (we were in a suite)
The Grande
Chic
Silk
American Icon
Never ate dinner in the Windjammer
-
I double checked and 10110 and 10510 do have
the pole in the room, I am not sure what other
F cabins do or do not have a pole

Do not panic, just make your single reservations at what ever venue
you want, and both of you show up a that time and you will be seated
together. There is no single tables so it will not be a problem. I was on
the Quantum in January with my wife and son and we changed from a
suite with all of us to a suite and a single cabin so my son lost all his
reservations so we all just showed up a the restaurant at the time for
my wife and me a they just added my son every time.
-
My son have been cruising with us since he was six years old and we take
one cruise a year and I always made sure that he had formal attire
( suit or tux )
-
I have sailed out of Bayonne many times in January, and usually by day 2
Morning it is not to cold approx 62-65f and by the evening 70f
-
You are right the royal loft does have a balcony beside you
-
I was able to book at 6 weeks out
-
I know that at complimentary restaurants you can order as many
as you want, as for Jamie's , Chops, and Wonderland someone else
will have to answer
-
I have not had that cabin but looking at some pic's I don't think that
your view will be blocked by anything, I did notice that there is a camera
just behind your balcony that I think is for the virtual balconies
-
I have had the js and the si on the 11th floor and I liked it very much
except there was a lot of wind noise from the balcony the way it was
positioned. I do not believe the pole will impact you in any way but
you might loose a little sunlight from the overhang above deck 13
-
Now all the people that whined about DD have something new to whine about
-
You should not have any problem with the 10am flight, I was on the Jan 3rd
sailing and we left our cabin at 6:40am took the elevator to the 5th floor,
walked off the ship, passed customs, walked to my truck, loaded our luggage
and was on the road by 7am
-
I was on the Jan 3rd sailing and it was Jimmy Rhodes
-
I do not have any pictures but the balcony is regular size but you only have
a round opening to look out, you are at the front of the ship so be ready
for some noise from the waves hitting the bow and you will feel the motion
of the ship a little more
-
Talk about digging up an old thread,
Exactly one year to the day
IMO both Ken and Jimmy are good CD's
