  1. We do it as soon as we book the cruise unless its later than April the next year. Carnival reserves the rights to revoke this privilege and they vote every April. If you have a cruise in May you have to wait till April to apply or they will reject it and tell you to wait and see if carnival renews it. They always do its more of a technicality. We have done it as far as 10 months in advance and as little as 2 weeks. It only takes them about 2 to 3 days to apply it if you email them the info.

  2. i also have a a ticket for this tournament. I am already booked on the cruise. They pay out the top 50 places with the lowest being $150.00. They estimate only 200-250 people will be in the tournament. its $500.00 to enter without the entry ticket from winning a previous tournament. i figured, i might as well try since it only cost me $25 to enter the preliminary tournament and won $500 so I am already ahead and was looking for a September cruse anyway.

  3. I know some B2B cruises can violate the Jones act and Carnival has been know to block you from booking them if they do. Can you explain what it is that violates it. I have taken numerous B2B cruises but they always were from the same port on Close loop cruises. I am looking at taking one from Vancouver to LA as a Hawaii cruise and then B2B it to the LA to Tampa which is a Panama Canal. Would this violate it since it started in Canada.

  4. i have been waiting fro this also. i wanted to do the Australia to Hawaii to Seattle that the legend did every spring and now that is not there either. Been hoping they still do something like that for what ever does Alaska in the summer. I asked my PVP and he said that they haven't made any decisions yet. They have to do something as it was the only sailing from the Seattle port.

  5. Thanks both of you. I just got done spending 24 days on the Horizon in Europe and the TA. I wasn't aware of the two different ports in LA but worse case a taxi wont take that long. Been on the Legend a few times and the Miracle once. Its more of a way to do the complete Panama Canal both directions.

Still deciding. Going to wait till we get off the Magic later this summer so i can get the additional onboard credit since i dont have to try and get the same room as i would on a regular B2B.

  6. My wife and I are thinking of taking the two Panama Canal Cruises in Sept 2019 as a B2B. One is Miracle from Tampa to LA and the other is LA to Tampa on the Legend. The Legend starts the day the Miracle arrives so I should be able to just walk across the pier from one to the other. My quest is though, what are the odds of a delay in the Miracle arriving screwing things up for me. If the Miracle is delayed for Fog or anything like that, wouldn't the Legend be delayed in leaving. I am thinking this is one pair of cruises that insurance would need to be a must in case i miss the second leg. Also since this is two different ships i am assuming there is no lining the two together for any reason. Has anyone done this type of B2B where they are different ships. Did it go smoothly going from one to the other.

  7. We try and only do B2B. in fact we leave on the horizon this weekend for 24 days. 10 day European and 14 day TA. i only do it when i can get the same cabin for both legs and usually do them through carnival 800 number as its easier for them to find a room available on both legs.

  8. Once you have booked a cruise, how often do you check for price drops? I am tempted to check each morning and each evening.:p We have been lucky on most of our past cruises to get some amount of OBC due to price drops. If the price does drop, how long on average would the lower price be available? Thanks for your input :)

i use a web page called cruise fish. if monitors it for me and emails me when there is a drop for my cabin class.

  9. Carnival was very helpful. We were on the Paradise and they mustered inside. When it came time to go outside they told her to just sit there and not leave and then they added her name to the special needs list and never once asked why. She spent most of the cruise in the Hot Tub and the Spa Sauna and it seemed to keep her pain down to a comfortable level. She now has 31 days to get feeling better before we leave on our next cruise.

I want to thank everyone for the advise. we did purchase a Stroller where there is a build in chair just in case. She never took it out of the room but it was a comfort to know she had it if needing it.

  10. Thanks. she doesn't want a wheel chair just somewhere to sit. as for the anti-inflammatory, she is hoping to get them today as we are in a small town area and they didn't have her medication on hand. Shes at the doctors now trying to get a weeks worth for the cruise. I think she is fighting through this for me as i dont think it will be that enjoyably for her. She has been having tests done for two weeks but just got diagnosed with it yesterday.

  11. Well i have a cruise that starts tomorrow. We have been nervous for the past two weeks whether we would even go or not because my wife just got diagnosed with Bursitis in her Hip and can not stand more than 5 to 10 minutes without a lot of pain. I am hoping to be able to get her allowed to Muster with the wheel chair people but have never done this. How do i go about getting her permission to do this as there is no way she could stand outside for muster. I of course will go to the normal muster station.

    Thanks

  12. I am trying to book a B2B2B2B with carnival but it includes both Australia and USA Carnival. Does anyone know if Carnival Australia uses PVP's. I would love to have my USA PVP contact a Australia PVP. I i want to be able to have the same room on all 4 legs. It will be a pain otherwise. I prefer not to us a TA as then carnival will not allow me to deal with any issues and i have to have the TA do it.

  13. Well i just contacted a PVP a friend of ours uses. She told me that they are not allowed to book Carnival Australia. Therefore i would have to contact them directly for those bookings. That being the case i may as well do this myself as there is no easy way to make sure i get the same room. She also told me that they are not able to link the cruises together so was not sure how the B2B would work on the switch over.

May be the first time i use a TA as then they can handle the hassle of both companies and getting me the same room on all of them.

  14. I'm not trying to burst your bubble but I don't think you'll be able to do the Alaska leg and also the Hawaii leg because of the PVSA law. Usually at the end of the Alaska season the last cruise will start in Seattle and end in Vancouver BC. Then Vancouver BC to Hawaii and even though this is 2 separate cruises I believe it is considered 1 cruise from Seattle to Honolulu from the PVSA perspective. And since it's transporting you from 1 us port to another US port without visiting a distant foreign port I believe it isn't allowed . Canada isn't considered a distant foreign port only a foreign port.

I believe the Honolulu to Sydney leg and then also the Australia leg are both handled via Carnival Australia. The leg from Vancouver to Hawaii would be Carnival USA.

worse case we just wouldn't do the Alaska leg. We have been there and it wouldn't be a big deal to miss that cruise. I am more concern with can my PVP do both US and Australia cruises so I can get the same cabin on all legs. I also wonder if Carnival Fly2Fun can be used since its with both systems. I only use this when i fly outside the US.
