What do you mean by cruise cash? Can't you charge everything to your shipboard account? I'm new to Carnival, but not to cruising where we just charged everything to our account.
-
Quote: If you have a Carnival transfer, I believe you may board whenever you arrive. Unquote.
Yes, but Supershuttle is also half the price of the Carnival transfer.

We'll be arriving on WestJet. We won't be trying to get into the airport; just out on Supershuttle and on to the Long Beach cruise terminal..

Thank you, all. We are so looking forward to our cruise!:D

We are flying into LAX from Vancouver Canada next week for Mexican Riviera cruise on Miracle. First time on Carnival and looking forward to it.
Are there any problems getting through the airport due to protesters, or do you think it will be okay by next Saturday? We arrive around 10:30 am and have booked Supershuttle. We chose a check-in time of 12:30. I understand that you can check-in later, but not earlier.

What time does the ship dock in Long Beach? Is there anything to do while waiting for the bus to return to LAX? Where you could store your luggage?

I have a cruise scheduled for Feb 2017 and want to lose 40 lbs. I started weight watchers last week so my first week weigh in is Wed. If I lose 2 lbs every week I will have lost 36 by my cruise date. I'm hoping by going on here with all of you it will give me the extra push to stay with the program. Here's to success!!:)
I have one scheduled for Feb 2017 too, to the Mexican Riviera. I started WW yesterday, and I would like to lose 15. I will have to average 1 lb a week to achieve this, and that will be hard as I lose slowly now that I am post-menopause. Here's to us!!!

I wouldn't call it comparable. Carnival's shuttle is $30 pp, while SuperShuttle is only $17.
Oh! I looked it up and saw $34.00, and I assumed that meant per person. Is it for both of us? I guess it must be as I did put in 2 passengers. Great!

We used Super Shuttle from LAX back in April. Didn't have any issues other than we probably waited for our van for around 1/2 hour. The SS rep was very easy to locate curbside and gave us our van #. Everyone else in the van was going to the cruise terminals (a few to San Pedro, another to Long Beach). When you make a SS reservation they ask for your destination which I'm sure they use for dispatch.
That said, we were sitting next to a group on our flight that was also on our cruise. They used Uber and were at the cruise terminal all checked in and waiting to board by the time we arrived to the terminal.
I'd be less concerned using SS from LAX than from the cruise terminal, a hotel, residence, etc.
Yes, we used them the last time we cruised from LAX, only we were going to our hotel rather than the port. That time we cruised NCL from San Pedro, this time will be with Carnival from Long Beach terminal. As I recall, we didn't wait long at the airport, and we went right to our hotel.
We chose a check-in time of 12:30 to 1 pm with Carnival. I understand you can't check-in earlier than this, but I think I read you can check-in later. So I am not concerned if we don't get the shuttle until 12 noon after getting our luggage, etc.

Lol. I wasn't looking for the cheapest way, just a good, reasonable way to get to Long Beach Cruise terminal from LAX. I will probably use SuperShuttle.
Thank you all for your responses.

We have used SuperShuttle in the past, and the price seems to be comparable to the Carnival shuttle. We didn't have to wait long for it at all. Maybe we'll try that.
Thank you for all your replies.:)

Thank you. We are from Vancouver, BC and are not familiar with uber. Where would I find out about it?

We will be arriving at LAX at 10:46 am for our Mexican Riviera cruise on the Miracle in February. What would be the best way to get to the cruise port? Would a taxi be more expensive than the airport shuttle through Carnival?
Thanks!

We are in BC. We have purchased TravelGuard insurance when we cruised before. We got it through our travel agent and it covers everything from the minute you leave your house until you return.
Also, through our Credit Union Insurance company, we are looking at "Tugo" for our upcoming Mexican Riviera cruise in February, which seems quite reasonable and would also cover Medivac.

Same here - we never use the spa or hot tub anywhere as my hubby used to be prone to ear infections.
-
And, also, I check to see if they've changed our cabin number!
-
Yes, I do. We have 3 days to go, and I check in daily to check all those things. So does my husband.

DH and I are doing the Mexican Riviera on the Star; leaving Dec. 7th. I'll do a review when we get back. Any other specific questions?:)

Personally, after all that food, I need the exercise of walking around to the different dining venues to see what more damage I can do!;)

You're sure right about the wealthy often being very obnoxious. And to jmcookiemonster, not only do you mean "riff-raff" instead of "rift-raft", it is "well-mannered" not "manored".
