Hi All,
-
Below is the reply to a query I made in June this year regarding corkage fees. I also got a (sort of ) confirmation that there is no corkage fee if consumed in your cabin or on a balcony. I figure I'll just ask for wine glasses and take my own wine with me by the glass as I leave the cabin.

Hi All,

Definitely no RCI cruises in our Australian winter. Mores the shame as the seas are often much calmer, and the weather quite mild in the northern regions. I know a lot of us locals would love RCI to base at least one ship permanently in Australia and offer winter cruises.

Should remove all those long queues onboard at Guest Services with passengers having their grats removed.

Just posted on Facebook by a couple of TAs
Service charges to be included for Australia and New Zealand sailings.
Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises have just unveiled a new "streamlined" fare structure, under which gratuities for stateroom attendants and dining room staff will be included in cruise prices.
The move means clients will pay a single inclusive cruise fare incorporating all main meals, accommodation, kids club, entertainment and activities. Passengers will continue to have the option to provide a discretional additional gratuity.
"Guests will see no change to the published price of cruises via any Royal Caribbean point of sale, including website, advertising and call centre pricing," the company said.
The change means free gratuities will no longer be available as one of the perks included in the Go Big, Go Better, Go Best promotion.
The all-inclusive fares apply to new bookings effective 12 December 2016 onwards, on sailings departing on or after 15 January 2017.

Hi,
RCI had coffee cards on Radiance a fortnight ago. $39US for 15 Tall coffees, ice coffees, etc. Good value at $2.60 per cup. we went through 3 of them in the 16 days.

You should be fine. As I mentioned earlier, ***** my cruise none of the the free drinks were listed, either as amounts or zeros. The other thing to remember is that you can ask for a printout any time on the cruise to see what has been charged to your room, and they also give you a final statement of account on the day you disembark so you shouldn't get any unwanted surprises. Just sit back and enjoy the trip.

Hi.
Just wondering if when you have the drink package each time you get a drink it is itemised on a statement but with 0 amount.
So at the end of the day you can see what you've had and would have spent if a drink package wasnt included. Or do you have to keep a record yourself.
Thought it would be good to see for future cruises if the drink package works in your favour or if your better off pay as you go :)
Hi,
The free drinks weren't itemised on my recent P&O cruise. just the items I had to pay for outside the free list.

So just to clarify....
You can take two bottles onto a Royal Carribbean ship and they wont charge you any corkage?
Does this include the restaurants etc? I was under the impression you could take it but need to take your own bottle opener and enjoy your wine anywhere but the restaurants because there is a large corkage fee.
Thanks for anyone who can clarify this for me
Definitely no corkage fee. Our last 2 cruises we have taken our own bottles into the MDR and Izumis without any problem.

Checkout Na Clachan Wine Tours. Did a tour March this year with them. They had a 10 seater bus which they are approved to pick up and drop off at the pier unlike some other companies. Worked out a $80NZ per person. Great tour and great value for money. From memory went to 5 Wineries and the chocolate factory, and had a very nice lunch at one of the wineries (additional to the $80). Just use the rollcall for your cruise to fill up your bus.

Lots of time on the internet trying to find the best price and then Googled the company to check them out. Spoke to the TA direct once I received my quote (51 international minutes free per month came in handy) to ask her some questions that she answered to my satisfaction so I decided to proceed with the booking. Such a big saving is hard to resist.

Recently booked a sailing from Brisbane online with a USA TA. Saved approximately $800AU compared to booking direct with cruiseline, and was able to view the booking and cabin number on the cruiseline website within an hour of paying the deposit. This amount of saving is nothing to be sneezed at and I have found the TA easy to communicate with even at a distance.

This is the advice I received from my travel agent recently.
Please see below terms and conditions copied direct from Norwegian Cruises in regards to gratuities on your Free at Sea inclusions.
