We were on the on the Sept. 15th sailing. The desserts were spectacular. A few of the entrees and appetizers were spectacular. A lot of them were absolutely terrible. Some things were odd. Lobster terrine would have been good except for the whole pieces of broccoli and carrots shoved in the center. Odd! Supper at the buffet was really bad. This was our first princess cruise. We have done carnival and rcl. The food did not even compare (and not in a good way). We loved everything else about Princess though.
I realize food is subjective,so this is just my opinion.

I had to type in the city and state and wait for the little box underneath to show a list of options. When I clicked on the correct airport and let it fill in that information in the box, it would go through

I am trying to decide where we want to eat for our free specialty dinner on our September cruise on Ruby. I thought it was all decided since Share was more expensive. Now that they are the same price, I am torn. I know this is very subjective, but would still love recent opinions.

Thanks everybody. Taking notes and practicing. I am now the proud owner of a nice tripod that my husband picked up at an auction for $3. Can't beat that lol. It is one that can be short or tall.

I cruised on carnival at around 23 weeks. I had a great time. It was pretty simple. My Dr sent the note and there were no questions asked. I retained a lot of fluid while on the cruise. After a couple of days, I learned that an afternoon nap with my feet up was a very good thing. I didnt have that problem before or after the cruise. Have fun!!!! I did lol.

Well, I'm pretty proud of myself on this list lol. I've already done a lot of this.
Simple Technical(ish) Tips:
Buy a decent SD card Bought two 85mbps SanDisk cards. I bought one 32gb and one 16gb.
Carry spare SD cards and spare batteries Check! Bought 2 batteries
Get in the habit of always using a strap. Not only did I get a neck strap, but I bought the one that goes around your hand too. I even got a waterproof bag. I might not have the picture taking down, but by golly, I have the preparation down. Lol
I didn't get to practice at the ball park. We were rained out. Looks like we might be rained out again tomorrow. I have 4 kids playing and 3 play at the same time on 3 different fields. I'm going to be doing a lot of speed practicing lol. I'm taking my phone also. For well lit close ups, it does pretty well. (Galaxy s7 edge).
Thanks again, you have been a great help.

Ok, I'm gonna screen shot that and print it out and slowly work through it. Thank you for making it easy to understand. I read a lot on here before I bought this camera. Some of it went way over my head lol

Thank you! I don't drink coffee so at least I have that down. Lol. And Rowrow, thanks for clarifying cause ummm nope, I didnt. Dumb, I'm telling ya!
Gonna see about a little tripod. I will try not to zoom all the way.
Taking it to the ball park tonight to try some more. Thanks so much!

First, let me say I am a total camera dummy. Please dumb down any advice to the dumbest level possible. I won't be offended. I recognize my dumbness. Lol. I have been trying out the zoom fully zoomed. A lot of my pictures are blurry. I'm holding it as still as possible and slowly pushing the button. Without blowing my mind, could someone give me some pointers and other advice and tips with it? I'm not heading to Alaska until September. I gave myself plenty of time to improve lol. I also have lots of kids. Improving my all around camera skill would definitely be a plus. Thank you!

We buy the gaudiest, ugliest suitcases we can find. No one ever gets ours by mistake. If you see the burgundy suitcase with the big metallic gold elephants on it.....

Thanks everybody! After reading here and the camera board, I went for the Panasonic lumix fz70. I found a used one on eBay for a really good price. (To me anyway). It should be in later this week. That gives me about 5 months to practice with it. I am so excited. I don't know of I am going to make it until September. 😂

Thank You! I didn't know there was a camera board. Heading to find it and read, read, read! Going to look around for the suggestions also.

We have good binoculars (a pair for each of us), but from what I have read, we need a good camera. I don't want to break the bank. I told my dh to get me one for my birthday before we go. I told him a nice used one with a good lens and zoom from eBay, facebook, or a pawnshop would be great. I told him an older digital one would be great too (as long as it isn't too old). What do you have and love? I need suggestions. :D:D:D:D

They release the family ocean view rooms if they aren't booked when it gets closer to cruise time. They are almost twice the size of the regular ocean view rooms but not much more expensive. You might want to call and see if they will let you book it with 4.
-
It was already available for less than five. That is why I was booking it. They starting showing as booked after I tried to book them through her. Sorry I didn't explain that well. They opened back up a few days later again.

Thank you. Now to decide if I want to lose the money or keep the balcony. We were booking the family ocean view cabins. Something funny happened after one travel agent told me we couldn't book it with 4 people. The cabins showed as booked 30 seconds later with another travel agent, but one at a time came available a few days later. Something funny happened there I think.

We booked two cabins. Long story short, only one cabin was available in the category we wanted so we booked another category. I think I would really prefer our first choice. That cabin is now available. Will they let us downgrade?

We went to the crown grill one night. It was not a great experience nor was it a great steak. It was pretty basic. We ordered. They brought our food. We got no flavored salt or anything else to make it special. It was a good steak but definitely not a great steak. It was like getting a steak at a restaurant that served steak along with other things instead of a steak house. The steak we had in the mdr was actually better, and it was off the regular menu. The petit filet and the medallions of beef in the mdr were definitely part of the meals that were spectacular.
