I thought it would be fun to upgrade to a veranda on the disney dream--I had one room in mind unfortunately we were too late--it was a cat.7A obstructed view in the aft to upgrade was "only" 180$
so then I found another room in the aft cat.6A which I know is a higher catagory but it was also listed as obsturcted but on the disney website it listed as the same price as the 7A so I email my TA who says its another 249$
the confusing part is I realize the catagory is different but why on the website does is say the same price as the other room and both are obstucted rooms
any thoughts

we are booked on the British Isles cruise in sept on DCL----when checking our tours there was quite a few for each port
yet monday when we were able to book the tours theres only a handful to pick from
there just gone--theres a few that say sold out
for example for each port there were around 6 tours where you could book a private car--those dont show up for any port
just wondering why all of a sudden they were taken down
just curious

just by thought did the CC used for the deposit have travel insurance with it
ours does and we had to cancel a trip a few years ago--and the CC I used has the travel insurance as one of the perks
so when I had to cancel we got every cent back from the trip
this perk is free with the card
sorry if someone else already mentioned it--I didn't read all the pages
good luck

for our 40th anniverary next year we are looking to do something special
were thinking of spending some time in England and then doing some sort of cruise that goes to
Germany--
are there any cruise lines that even go to Germany as one of there ports--or we were thinking
of doing a river cruise in Germany--but dont really know to much about the ships--like what is there to do if you dont feel like going off the ship
or even a guided tour of Germany--but again I dont know too much about them
approx how many people are on the tours--if you dont feel like going on a tour can you stay at the hotel--do they have a few different tours in each city (or do you just stay in one city) that you can pick from
sorry about all the questions but were really looking into something near
thanks all

first were looking for a good cruise line--weve done DCL and RC and years ago Preiemer
are there any that spend like 2 days on an island-says dock on Mon -Mon night and not leave till say Tues night--so we have some time to do a few tours--weve done cruises to Europe and since you sail at night every morning your in a different city--so you really have to pick the best tour since you only have time for one

we are in this room on the alaska cruise this year
we usually pick a deck which has rooms above and below it but since we booked probably on the late side i dont know when these cruises came out but we booked last sept while on our last cruise and we just booked it on the spot since we won the final jackpot bingo
but were rather worried it could be noisey just above the theatre but well be at the second show since we have first dining do they ever have other types of shows after the second one
just a little worried since weve never been above a public place
thanks so any tips would be greatly appreciated

I saw a post on here and someone mentioned that they had a ressie and reansfered it to their TA so they got the now Im not sure if it was all the benefits or just the OBC of both places
it was said they do this all the time with no problems
so if Im understanding this right we booked a cruise last sept while on board--we won the jackpot bingo on the last night so thats what we did with the cash--we booked Alaska for later this year
so we got the usual benefits of 10% off deposit $200 OBC and 10% of th cruise
we wnet through dreams unlimited for last sept cruise so we of course put them down as the TA again
so my question is does this count as transfering of the ressie--so would get the benefits of this TA actually I think the post I read they just got the OBC which would be great if this is the case
please let me know if this is even possible or if I misunderstood something
thanks

wow thanks for the update
thats sure is close as we leave on the 16th--right between the 2 strike dates
I hope on the 16th its business as usual--but since our flight is at 345pm and taking disney trasfers we should be there for hrs before our flight
-
we are do to fly into Barcelona on 9-8 and leave on the Med cruise 9-9 and if the terror attacks werent enough to deal with now Im hearing about a strike at the Barcelona airport
our light home doesnt leave until 345pm and taking disney transfers Im sure well get to the airport very early
has anyone else heard of this or have gone through it at the airport
thanks all
-
thanks for the great responses theyve actually made me feel better already--looks like a few of you will be on the cruise with me---have a safe travel--maybe we could meetup
-
we are booked to leave on the Med in just 3 weeks--with all the terrioist in Barcelona
I was just wondering if any one knows if there were any changes for the cruise leaving this tomorrow
were just a little nervous going there now--so far our TA said our date should not be effected but just the thought of going there now is rather unnerving
just wondering how any of you leave that are leaving soon
thanks and take care
-
sorry but I do have yet another question
you mentioned hotels and yes we do have one booked its the Barcleona Renaissance Fira
I read on another board that theres another once called just Barcelona REnaissance but it was already booked for disney and its super expensive
do you anything about the Fira hotel--it looks nice I always like to have some idea what Im getting into
I dont know what it was about this trip --it seemed harder to get it all together then when we did a Northern Europe cruise out of Southampton on RC
thanks for answering so many of my questions
-
thanks so much for the very helpfull tips and yes we have sailed out of PC so I was glad to hear Barcelona is sort of like that and that we will be dropped off where we can leave our luggage
we do have disney transfers from the port to the airport and I know disney is real efficient at getting people off the ship
so thanks again--if you think of any other tips could you please let me know
take care

in just a few weeks we leave on our cruise out of Barcelona
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what how the port is set up and are things easy to find
we have a car service from our hotel to the port ( we did this when we were in London a few years ago and the driver dropped us off by sort of a dock setting where they did take our luggage though) and we just followed a group of people figuring they were heading to the terminal
usually we take disney transfers but the hotels they use were full--we could get the transfers just have to get ourselves to the hotel disney has set up with but by the time you do all that we might as well just take the car service to the port
so if anyone has any tips on the port /terminal /check in or any tips Id greatly appreciate it
thanks all
-
I just finished paying off our cruise tonight--now Im at a lose
we sail out of Barcelona and plan on getting in the night before--the hotels disney uses for transfers are all booked so first off if anyone could recommend a hotel in barcelona and which is the best and easiest way to get there
also we need transfers from the hotel to the port and back to the airport--
any other tips or advice would be greatly appreciated--
this seems like such a different cruise trying to get everything planned--th ones that leave out of port canvaral are the easiest
a few years ago we did a European that left out of Southampton but have a friend that goes to London alot so she recommended a great hotel that a wonderful concigere desk that arranged our transfers from the airport to hotel to port and back to airport--but his this one Im totally lost
thanks
how under sized are the rooms on disney dream
in Disney Cruise Line
Posted
right now we have room 8676 on the dream
just thinking now of switching to a 7A 7182 its an under sized veranda--just wondering how small is it
it would be around 100$ cheaper then the 8676
were not super big veranda people
just like the extra light it lets in and going out this is the british isles so Im thinking out on deck it could be chilly
just looking for thoughts on these rooms
theres also a 8164 room open
any thoughts would be very helpful
