  1. Champster, I'm running the Meet and Greet, lol!!! I think we might see a lot of each other, haha. Nailing down to bar for the pre-cruise meet up tomorrow.

That’s the best news of the day. I’ll have a rental car ( land Thursday’s night from Buffalo) so I’ll be at everything cruise ( related) Friday! Looking forward to meeting you! Something tells me this trip is gonna be epic!

  2. Hey Champster! Are you ready for Saturday? what games do you play? I'll be at the craps table after the family goes to sleep most nights.

My kind of guy. I’ll be at craps tables before wife goes to bed...... and after she goes to bed ( if my hard 6/8 are working). Looking forward to meeting you

Be sure you sign up for our cruise Roll call! Meet and greet Sunday and a pre cruise meet and greet in Seattle Friday !

  3. NCL has Ultimate Texas Holdem (where you play against the house) on all their ships. As well as Texas Holdem where you play against other players ($2-5 no limit).

So Bliss has a poker room or just 1 poker table in the casino?

  4. Then you need a casino "host" not a PCC. Only CAS personnel can make CAS reservations.

Damn. My CAS hosts told me that only 70% of dinner reservations are committed prior to embarkation. The other 30% are reserved for first day of cruise. Sure wish she would have offered to book my locked out dinner reservations for me when i reached out last week!

  5. We were on the Bliss last month and yes, we were able to pick a "arrive at terminal" time window. To be honest I don't remember how far out it was but am pretty sure it was well before final payment. But remember, it's a time frame to arrive at the terminal, not embark. Our time was 9:30 - 10:00 but they didn't even start letting people on until closer to 11:00 and we were in group 4 I think. That said, we were on the ship before noon.

That’s good to know. I choose 12/12:30 arrive at terminal time. Hoping that means on ship soon after. When do you find out your embarkation time?

  6. The music is played through headphones. Means you can dance to the tunes but the bar staff can hear your order!

It looks weird though if you're not listening. All these people making mad shapes in silence

Sounds like a riot. Can you pre book this or unavailable until boarding? Thanks for the feedback too!

  7. Right now, for Alaska, it is The Social. Set up like a lounge with a main room and dance floor and side rooms. See the dailies from Alaska to see what’s happening in The Social.

Note: the silent dance (everyone with headphones) sells out really quickly, so sign up as soon as you embark.

“Silent dance”. Please explain how that works?

  8. I just got this reply from my NCL Casino at Sea host with regards to getting dinner reservations that are currently booked . “For the onboard dining, what I would recommend is when you get onboard, please go directly do the hostess outside of each restaurant, before you go to the buffet or your room or to explore the ship. They will be able to book you based on what’s left at that time. They pre-book 70% and save the other 30% for onboard. I do not have any additional inventory than that that you see online.”

    Call me encouraged !

  9. I agree with SeaPortMike. Most post negative, but won't take the time to post when they are satisfied.

We cruised our 1st NCL cruise on the Escape 2 yrs ago. The reviews scared me then, but once we got onboard, our family loved the NCL cruise experience. So much so, we leave for the Bliss next weekend. Kids are thrilled. They are 8 & 10 and understand the GoKart situation, and that we will pay for each to go once or twice. Satisfied with that, they look forward to just good old family time. Not interested in the camps, but just exploring the ship & what it has to offer. Every kid is different, but mine are happy with the fact we just get to be away and that all 4 of their grandparents will be joining this time around.

Ditto to what cruiselover said. Before our first cruise on Breakaway ( to Florida and Bahamas) , the reviews scared the bejesus out of me. My experience was the total opposite of the negative reviews. Already working on a family cruise out of NYC for next may as we prepare for our 1st Bliss/Alaska cruise in 2 weeks.

In my humble opinion, family time is too short to b---h about whats not good, but rather to embrace whats good about the cruises and spending quality time with family....and friends!

  10. Yes, you are correct, they only open a portion of the available reservations before embarkation. However, on the Bliss, it has seemed to be a constant negative that everything became booked by mid day of embarkation for the whole cruise....so that's a big risk if you really want to do something or eat at a specific specialty restaurant! Calling in and talking to an NCL rep helped us get all the advance reservations we needed (even when they were not available on line to book)!!

I wish I would have thought to call my NCL rep. Ocean Blue and Cagneys were both sold out a month ago ( for 2 people reservations) when I started to make my dinner reservations and I thought that I was making reservations early for my 8/18 Alaska trip. Settled on Teppanyaki (did it before on Breakaway and enjoyed it) and La Cucina and Los Lobos ( 1st time for both). I'm pissed that I waited too late for Ocean Blue and Cagneys. Won't make that mistake again!

  11. Thanks for the step-by-step instructions and screenshot! That’s very helpful! I’ve been pulling up their site on my iPhone and my screen looks nothing like that.

So, I grabbed my Kindle Fire and now I see that I’m definitely in the proper place. But no edocs yet 🤷*♀️. I trust they’ll show up soon.

Ditto to what Satchmo said. Heck I just bookmarked this C.C. page so I'm not scrambling in 90 days (Bliss 8/18 to Alaska);).

Now if someone can remind me how to put my "sail clock" into effect!:o

  12. Thanks for the menu picture! That looks like a great day for lunch. I hope the ibuprofen helps quickly!

Ditto to what Ginny said. Maybe its just me , but this is the 1st post of a Savor menu (lunch or dinner) that I have seen. Hoping to see some more Savor/MDR menu's!

  13. 1 main dining rooms (Manhattan Room (dinner only), Taste/Savor (lunch on sea days)), Garden Cafe Buffet, The Local. Haven Restaurant (for suites).

2 shorts allowed in all restaurants except Le Bistro and Ocean Blue.

3 smoking is very restricted. Cigar lounge. Casino for active players in the smoking area. No longer on the waterfront.

4 the main shows Jersey Boys and Havana need reservations. Along with the comedy show. These are free. There is a paid show Prohibition.

I thought that I read somewhere that the Observation lounge had breakfast (Continental maybe) available too. Is that correct or is it a charge for Observation lounge breakfast??
