My husband and I are booked for AQ in December (New Orleans to Memphis xmas cruise) and we're 38 & 40, and our son will be 14 years old.

We discovered the joys of river cruising several years ago during a delightful AmaWaterways cruise on the Rhine.

We had plenty in common with the lovely folks who enjoyed the history and in-depth experiences of a river cruise, regardless of age.

We anticipate we'll enjoy the like-minded passengers on the AQ cruise as well - people are brought together by memorable common experiences.

I'm curious about that too! We're doing the reverse, New Orleans to Memphis for the holidays, can't wait!

When I googled it I could see that Memphis averages high 40s but of course it could be different on the river, so I'm going to pack for cold weather and hope for sunny days.

I used to live in Victoria BC, and November is hit or miss. Some seasons it's a little bit rainier than others. When it does rain, it tends to be a very light drizzle. However for the most part the fall in the Pacific Northwest is absolutely stunning.

I LOVE James Clavell - especially "Shogun"! His books are so immersive that you forget to eat or sleep or even blink! :D
