Where does one look to see which suites have been assigned/unassigned? Many thanks!
Cruise Critic won't allow us to give out other web sites .But look through a search and find one that will show empty cabins .

Crystal is the best fit but at the right price would happily sail any of them. Have a great cruise.
I think we'll be able to suffer through it . Thanks ;

I have only done one SB cruise but that sounds like a good price. It doesn’t have any real stops (which I don’t mind when I am trying a luxury line).

First one for us .Always looked pricey .It's really a re positioning of sorts .We were looking at something on Oceania and saw this one .Tips , grog included . And I've been snooping on another site .It looks to only be half full from what I can see . And a bunch of higher category cabins still there .We are on a guarantee . So I think we should get something good . Seabourn Odyssey Apr. 6 Take a look if you can make it . Funchal is a great stop .

I don't want to rub salt in anybody's wounds , but this is what we got from the TA.... " Everything is in good shape: transfers are securely in place and at no cost. When you arrive in Barbados, there should be someone with a Seabourn sign ready to greet you as you exit customs and proceed to the baggage claim area. "

I didn't mean to sound patronizing. Sorry if it came off that way, But the reason SB calls them upgrades is because they want you to think you are getting something you are not.
I like the way you think .Yo Mamma didn't raise no fool .

We actually LIKE the wheelchair rooms! We were assigned one on Azamara and it was larger with a larger bath room than normal and it was quite nice. I would take one again.
The first couple of cruises we took were on Princess .We were able to request the handicap cabin . And were told that as long as there wasn't an actual handicapped passenger needing it , we could have it .The shower alone was worth it .if the boat was rocking , those rails were great ..as well as more floor space in the main part of the cabin .

Are Cabin upgrades ever available? These do not necessarily have to be free, I am prepared to pay for one if there are discounts available.....Has anyone received an upgrade in the cabin? We are currently V6 on the Odyssey and were curious as to what might be possible. Thanks!

V 6 , as I have perused , is the highest category for the veranda suites .If I am navigating correctly . So the only thing you can move to would be an Owners suite or a Penthouse . Can't be too many with 225 suites in total . But discount ? Good luck

I didn't go to TK on my recent, first, Seabourn cruise, for various reasons probably of little interest to others. But I did talk to a woman who went in to make a reservation and felt she was being interviewed so the staff could determine if she was suitable. Just one impression from one passenger, but …
Oh Jeezze ,sounds like I'll fit right in .I'm very discriminating .

Yes, and as I have said recently this happens very regularly, however funnily enough no one wants to start a thread about how their cruise price rose $6000 after they had booked! ;)

In theory, the cruise line could provide a pair of gloves in the gym for anyone to use, but would you want to put on a pair of sweaty gloves someone else just used? Me neither!

On Riviera atm.
Guests brought alcohol aboard at embarkation and at every port.
what the ship would NOT do was receive it on your behalf. You had to schlep it on personally.
No foolin ? That's pretty free and easy . I'm sure they don't want a confrontation with any passenger over losing a few bucks at the bar . I hope it continues . Somebody starts a stampede and they could drop the ax .

Whatever the policy, in *practice* O has not yet confiscated any wine or alcohol I have brought on board (whether initial boarding or at a port). I think once we were under the printed limits at initial boarding, all other cruises we have been over the printed limits. For this issue, practice is generally more liberal than policy, it appears.
So far I haven't seen any report on CC of an O passenger having alcohol confiscated at boarding - doesn't mean it hasn't ever happened, but certainly doesn't seem to be likely.
This suggests that "hiding" alcohol at boarding may be a wasted effort.
I suspect that if practice becomes more restrictive (that is, closer to the letter of the written policy), there will be plenty of posts here to report the change 😉
By George , you just may have summed it all up . I hereby bestow upon thee , the last word award !

BUT you can bring spirits & beer without a problem as long as you drink it in the cabin ...same unwritten policy as always but for those that abuse the generous rules they will pull out the written policy
If you do want to stash it in your bags do you not think they will find it you were not allowed to bring it onboard ??
Please stop with " the drink it only in your cabin " spiel .Got it . Have understood that part for years . The point is , the written policy is six bottles of wine . And yes you could probably carry more on . Or stash it in your bags .To address your question , they could find it prior to delivering your bags . COULD , but with the volume of bags processed , in the time available , I highly doubt they can screen for bootleg booze on even 20 or 30 % of the luggage brought on .There must be a method of detecting some sort terrorist device , go ahead laugh .But as far as detecting what is in a bottle spotted on an X ray , with thousands and thousands of bags in a reasonable amount of time ? Not likely . Now , class . CLASS ! Lets assume that you did get pinched . What's your gripe ? …." Excuse me , the UNWRITTEN POLICY states you can bring on what you would like " .... " Oh right , that's what the unwritten policy says …..Wait a cotton pickin minute . Unwritten ? " …" Yeah I heard about it on Cruise Critic " ….".No sir , the policy is clearly stated in the brochure .Read it " . That is what I have patiently tried to illuminate . I have had some of this discussion apparently deleted .I have been referred to as a troller , an unworthy passenger of Oceania due to financial status , I don't think anyone has called me an outright liar . Although it's been implied that I have never actually been on an Oceania ship . This discussion , and that's all this is , has reached the ridiculous level . But let's go further .Make a long story just a little bit longer . If I call Oceania and ask ? … What will they tell me ?... " Oh don't worry , just look up the unwritten policy ….. Look it up ? But it's unwritten ? Hmmm , well in that case sir , you may have to go with what is written " Argue it til you turn blue .I'm not telling anybody to not BYOB , but the point is , if you do get pinched , your SOL .

why would you need to HIDE your stash boarding an Oceania cruise ?
they will allow you to carry reasonable amount onboard with you to enjoy in your cabin
From the Oceania site : "
- 4 months ago Updated We are pleased to inform you that Oceania Cruises has revised the policy for bringing wine onboard. We have now increased the limit to 6 bottles per stateroom.
" We ask that guests let us know they are bringing wine on-board so the ship can be advised. Guests are welcome to enjoy their wine in the comfort and privacy of their stateroom or suite, or, if they prefer, may enjoy their wine in one of the ship’s dining rooms. " ….The stated policy is and was WINE That's what it says , WINE . It doesn't state Liquor or Beer .So, if I'm coming on board with anything other than WINE .I'm going to hide it . In case you have a hard time visualizing , as I pull up to the port after stopping off to make a buy , I have to get it into the luggage . It would be best to make the cab let you stash it prior to getting to the port , but the last time we brought it on we waited until we pulled up . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRr4C3tOrrc I will add that I gladly paid corkage in the dining room numerous times .As well as bought drinks on board .But the drinks on board are certainly not real generous and the beer selection is somewhat limited .

Hello , been years since I've posted .Haven't done a cruise in 5 or 6 years .But we have done Oceania at least three times and really liked it . That they allow ANY alcohol is way better than most , if not all lines .Wine is allowed .As I recall , beer and liquor are not . I am not ambitious enough to go to the site and read through , as we have no current plans to cruise . With me ,beer is a must .A 24 OZ can of Sapporo , or Fosters works well , and have flown them in my luggage . I usually take some , buy some in the ports . We take some vodka and a bit of whiskey and it always gets on . We have had the cab stop on our way to the ship in Florida . It's a little weird as you pull up to the ship .The porters are hot to take you luggage and your trying to load your stash while on the curb .If doing more than a couple weeks ,it gets a little more difficult . There is always the old , plastic water bottle trick . Don't go overboard on the quantities and I think you'll be fine . And don't give me the cheapskate moniker .I wear it proudly .

Count your lucky stars on your timing on this one . Could have been really crappy to leave on a cruise , leave your car .Re route all over to avoid rough seas . And then come back to find your car was in a flood .Any word on the Hyatt Place at 17th street convention center. We have a room booked for the 22nd and are leaving the vehicle there while on the cruise.:D I don't want to make light of other people's misery. It's by shear chance that sometimes you dodge big trouble . This has got to put a wet rag on a lot of the Caribbean ports .
-
You can always buy it locally wherever you are and bring it on the ship.
Yes , but if your going straight to the ship from the airport , getting your load in the suitcase is a little touchy .You either have to open the trunk of the cab after making your buy . And if your in a strange store it can take you awhile to decide what you want ....OR do what we did , got out of the cab on the dock .But then the baggage guys come running .And you have to stall them while you load .And if you have a lot your cramming in there it's a little awkward .
-
Can't say much about recent experience .But have been on the Riviera three times . Really liked the ship .I don't know if they have changed the policy , but Oceania used to let you bring on your own wine as long as you drink it in the room or pay corkage in the dining room . You just can't waltz around with outside wines . This is pretty unusual for a cruise line .But is a good reason to go Oceania .Your flying , so you likely don't want a lot of wine in your luggage , but it can be done .
