  1. I'm sailing next week also and have yet to receive an email. I even had excursions on the island booked so one would think I'd be on a priority notification list. My friend whose cabin is right next to mine told me NCL called her this morning to inform her. No email. No indication it's being skipped on my account. Also when you make a dummy res, GSC is still listed as a stop with no weather/construction alert.

  2. Good news everyone! After L1211's post about adding the dining plan to make the cost MORE than what we initially paid, I called back prepared to do just that. Well, my plan was to add something. Realistically I was hoping to get away with adding a Bon Voyage package, water bottles, etc. However the rep was totally confused by why I even suggested such a thing and said it was a quick switch. She said you can't pay LESS, but if the price was the same OR more and the cabin category itself was an upgrade, it was no problem! I was thrilled! I don't mind a long walk if we end up getting a far cabin. A couple years ago on Royal's Brilliance of the Seas my husband and I had the very last aft jr suite on our deck. There was no aft elevator. I might have the actual recording I made of myself walking to the elevator. It took a full minute! I'm not kidding. It was like 70 seconds from door to door. So no matter where they stick us on the Sky, at the end of the day, we got a balcony! Yay! Thanks for all your advice and well wishes!

  3. I've read the threads about price drops after booking but I'm a little unclear. Back in June, I booked on the Sky and paid for an Inside (IC) cabin. The rate was $349pp. Now the balcony guarantee (BX) is $349. I called Norwegian to see about switching but they said it isn't an upgrade because I'm not paying more. Did I get a rep who wasn't as knowledgeable? On other threads, I saw people posting the upgraded cabin has to be equal or more than the existing one. Is that not the case? I reached out to Norwegian privately through social media but haven't heard back. I mean I will gladly give up my pre-assigned cabin for a balcony ANYWHWERE on the ship. If they see the price at $359 or $379 I'd be willing to pay that too. But the next category above the guarantee is $419 and I just can't justify that cost. Please no "well, $140 isn't that much". I know that. I'm asking about keeping the same rate or paying a modest amount to change it. An inside guarantee is only $189 compared to the $349 I spent but I don't expect NCL to let me downgrade and give me a bunch of money back. But one would think since there is no rate change, I could switch.

  4. Unfortunately I have no idea how to post them. I was on the 12/11 sailing of the Brilliance. I got married at Mr. Sanchos. The wedding ended up being great even though THE DAY OF embarkation the best man and a groomsman couldn't join us. I was too flustered to do the meet at the Sky Bar. I have days 1-4 as well as the Teen Compass, Vitality Spa price list and the flyers with the spa specials. I really want to help anyone who wants to see it because I was bursting at the seams before we sailed in anticipation. Suggestions welcome!

Fun fact: we were in cabin 1098 (Jr suite) and it took 1:07 to walk from our door to the mid elevators. Yes I'm weird and timed it. Lol

You might have seen our group at Michael Jackson guess that tune. We and another family got a perfect score. The tie-breaker was one on one and we sent our biggest MJ fan (my 14 year old daughter who correctly guessed songs like "Blame It On The Boogie"). Her competitor was a man, he beat her, the crowd booed, she cried profusely and the host gave her a travel cup anyway. (She felt like she let the team down, bless her heart)

  5. Thanks Debde! Crew stairs huh? Well drat! Lol. We will be ALL be at dinner the first night for sure. So your suggestion to just let them know was great. I love these boards :)

Notsomadhatter- there seem to be a lot who disagree with you =)

However my DH and I are pretty fit and shouldn't have any issues. We put his mom midship so she won't have to worry about it. And we knew what we were signing up for anyway by taking an aft cabin right?

  6. I didn't want to clutter the forum with a bunch of diff questions so I figured I'd put them all in one post. Thank you in advance!!

    1. I will be getting the Royal Replenish package and cannot wait to chug fresh-squeezed orange juice. I believe it is only available during breakfast hours at the WJ and MDR. Is that correct?

    2. Relating to that, I saw a post mentioning OJ can also be had at the Vitality spa all day. Is this true? I can't remember if it was the Brilliance or another ship.

    3. Are there usually discounts offered for spa services once onboard? I've considered booking online now, but I can hold out if deals are probable.

    4. We are a fairly large group (14). I know Royal will seat us together for dinner. I'm pretty sure only 2 of the 4 nights will see everyone at dinner. Only a few people will show up the other days if anyone even does. Is that frowned upon? If there is a large empty table, will servers, or even other cruisers, be adversely affected? I would hate to come the next night & get an uncomfortable vibe.

    5. We have an aft cabin and I keep seeing people refer to "the long walk". On the deck plans, it looks like there are stairs on the aft end of the ship. Am I deciphering it wrong? Are you guys referring to a long walk to elevators? We don't mind stairs generally. Do the stairs go up one deck to the Windjammer? It would be great to have such a short walk to get food to bring to the cabin to eat on the balcony.

  7. Thank you for posting this! I had a D1 and was able to upgrade to a JS for an addtl $80 (final payment date was about a month ago). There was only 1 JS when looked online so I put a courtesy hold on it (customer service was closed), called the next morning and they did the magic to switch the cabins. I was in 1104 so I was thisclose to not switching but I had to convince myself that the extra space on the balcony didn't compare to the nicer cabin. I also got the $300 OBC which made it silly to NOT upgrade. Now I can justify the drink package I was only contemplating until yesterday and a pedi onboard. This is a wedding/honeymoon cruise so this is perfect!!! Thank you again!

  8. Thank you all again for the great info!

The beach club opens at 9am land time/10am ship time. So we should be good. I keep having a recurring nightmare that our guests will oversleep & I will be the only one on the beach. I kid you not, I've had that dream at least 4 times in the past couple months. I can just see them in their cabins, yawning and stretching with plans to go down to the Windjammer. Literally in my dreams it's like I can read their minds and they have completely forgotten the wedding. For some reason, it's always DH's mom and one of my sisters. Lol. So maybe this extra time will allow me to call everyone's cabin like a maniac and make sure they're awake. :p

joey1- We are going to Mr. Sanchos. We did a girls trip there a couple years ago and LOVED it! I know the atmosphere is a bit too "spring break" for some but that is what we are looking forward too. I know the teens in our group will love it. Is a roll call the same as meet n mingle? There's a get together on the ship? Or is it just saying, "hey I'll be onboard too. Maybe I'll see ya!"?

  9. Thank you all! I spoke to the planner who told me the 8am time is ship time but Cozumel is an hour behind so it will only be 7 on the beach. She bumped it to 10am ship time though since I was so wound up. LOL. She also suggested I speak with guest services to see if priority debarkation is available for that day. Out of curiosity, does the "clearance time" really mean when Royal expects to be letting people off? Of is it lingo for something else? Now all I have to worry about it getting to the ship from home. Please old man winter let us Hoosiers have a bit of a break so we can fly undelayed to Tampa! *fingers-crossed* I really wanted to come down a day early but between DD having finals and DH (giggles) work schedule, we couldn't pull it off. Thank you all again! Maybe some of you viewers will be on our sailing :)

  10. Thank you. I just thought the "clearance" time on the compass meant the time guests are allowed to start getting off. I just thought I'd get past experience stories from people here. But i guess you are the only one to ever get off in a port out of all the folks that viewed this thread :roll eyes: I appreciate you taking time out to answer me. I've been on Disney,Carnival, and Norwegian and can't remember ever waiting such a long time to get off in port day but that "clearance" time threw me off and made me think Royal has a different policy.

  11. Hello! Long time lurker, first time posting. I am getting married on the 12/11/14 sailing of the Brilliance. The ceremony will be on Cozumel day (12/13/14) at a beach club. I know the ship docks at 8am. I assumed we could get off shortly thereafter. The ceremony is being handled by the planners of course. It's intimate, no wedding party other than a best man and maid of honor, 14 other guests. So all we (the groom and I) have to do is get to the beach, change clothes and we're ready. The ceremony is scheduled to start at 9:30am because we are spending the rest of the day at said beach club to partake in the all-inclusive festivities and want as much time to enjoy that as possible before heading back to the ship. I just saw a cruise compass online from last Nov, and it says: "arrival: 8am; ships clearance: apprx 9:30am". Does this mean we can't even get off the ship until then? I am freaking out! The planner knows we are on a cruise ship and this is a very reputable company so she has to know about usual times guests get off the ship but she didn't flinch at the 9:30 time and was actually the one to suggest it so we can spend more time celebrating afterwards. Advice please??Thanks all!

TL/DR What time can I get off the ship on Cozumel day? (Brilliance)
