We are going in Sept. We the bike tour and the Crater snorkeling reserved also. How fast were you moving down hill?

I felt the same. Too many people for the small bars and restaurants. Pool deck was a nightmare. The food was very good once you got into a restaurant.

My husband and I are on the Pearl's NY cruise too. We went to Harvest Caye in January and do not plan to leave the ship when we go back. Not complaining, just found nothing of interest to us personally there. The pool is gorgeous, so if you are a pool person definitely check it out!

 

I hope not too many people stay on board, we are looking forward to an empty ship! :)

 

Oh, as to beach chairs, unless you are on one of the BIG ships, there are plenty of loungers at the beach. We were on the Dawn and I dont think half of them were in use.

We were on the getaway so yes it was one of the bigger ships.

Belize is a very beautiful place. Not Harvest Caye. NCL has created a beach where you spend the day. There are not enough chairs on the beach or by the pool. The sand is very coarse, You can not walk bare foot. The water is a lagoon so it is stagnant. There are not any floats or tubes to rent.

The pool was nice. Drinks are way overpriced and you have to pay for the food. There are only two restrooms on the island. There are plenty of gift shops if you want a $15.00 coozie or a $7.00 chocolate bar.

We have been to other private islands and this is the worst. Tried to get a snorkeling excursion but NCL does not allow any private excursions on the island.

Very disappointing. Went back on the ship for lunch and they must assume everyone is off the ship. Only 1/4 of the buffet was open for lunch. Way too crowed and not refilled as items were taken.

We too are disney cruisers. We leave on the getaway in February. I have not heard any good things about Belize. Such a shame Castaway is my favorite stop.

You don't have to pay for chairs. There are plenty of them. You have to pay for food unless you go back to the ship to eat and then go back. You can easily go back and forth by walking or taking a free shuttle as the walk is about a 1/4 mile same as the other ports. I ate in the ship and went back. Pool was very nice. You can rent cabanas as well.

I have only been to Disney's island and Royal Caribbean's. I think NCL needs to rethink the food thing. I don't mind paying for drinks but food and water should be provided. I am weary of eating off the ship in a small local restaurant. I have a very picky stomach.

I was looking forward to a snorkel excursion, Belize has a beautiful reef. So we will have to make the best of a beach day.

Use your time while waiting to board making reservations for the comedy shows if you are wanting to go to them. Standby lines were very long and many people were turned away on our sailing.

 

Also, if there are things onboard you definitely want to do make sure you do them before the last sea day. On that day everything is packed and there are lots of lines. We never really had to wait in lines before that day.

Can you make any of the dining or show reservations before you board the ship?

I know we got on the ship around 11:30. I don't know about the getting back off. We had lunch, explored the ship and enjoyed a drink in the sun!!! It's a fabulous itinerary, but very busy. So rest up before!!!

We took sports bottles and filled them in the buffet everyday. You can also buy bottled water before you get on and carry it. Much cheaper than buying on the ship.

I would totally go with Romeinlimo for Florence! I've had some of my most amazing days with RIL out of Livorno. Tweak the day any way you want. They are very accommodating.

Ask for Elizabeth. She was wonderful.
