Lisa: Yep, you can get hot coffee and "iced" coffee without a punch. I use the quotation marks because on the Star, they make the iced coffee by pouring regular hot coffee over ice. They did not have any chilled coffee to use over ice, and they definitely did not have any cold brewed coffee. The iced coffee wasn't good at all, and the hot coffee melted the ice very quickly, as you'd imagine. I'm not sure if other ships do it differently.

Can you use your coffee card for anything (like Barista Speciality Mixes and Iced Tea Fusions) on the menu or only for the coffee drinks! If so, are they only 1 punch!
TIA
Mark
AFAIK, yes. My husband ordered a Black Forest Freeze from the Barista Speciality Mixes section, and the barista punched our card for it.

I just got back from a trip to Alaska on the Star. I saw several gentlemen in tuxedos, quite a few in suits, many with a shirt and tie, and a few in just a long-sleeve dress shirt. I didn't see any in t-shirts or polos, but I wasn't paying that much attention to others. I didn't see many women in long formal gowns, but I did see many in cocktail dresses or very nice tops and pants.

In Juneau, there is free public wifi in the library, which is located right in the middle of town, perhaps a five or so minute walk from where the ships dock.
I think you'll be able to find wifi in many restaurants. In Juneau, the restaurant Hanger on the Wharf had free wifi, as did Annabelle's in Ketchikan. At Annabelle's you have to ask for a password.

Saxgirl, your pictures are gorgeous! Thank you for sharing them. You've got me so excited - we're leaving for a northbound cruise on the Star in a couple of weeks.
Would you mind telling me what lens(es) you used? I'd like to pick up another one or two before my trip so that I can better capture the incredible scenery. Thank you! :)

TXRed, my husband and I shared a coffee card. I bought the card on embarkation day, and I asked the person selling them if it was OK to share and he said yes. The punch card only had the ship name and voyage date/number.
