No.  The alternating pattern indicates that 12714 would have the bed by the bathroom.  12712 is the "right" orientation so the room next to it (12714) would be "wrong" meaning the bed is near the bathroom.  Remember....you must start your orientation/alternating from the HALLWAY.

Got it, I was thinking the room to the right of the connecting rooms was the "right" room. But I see, it's the right room of the connecting rooms. Thank you!

Another way to determine bed placement is to note that all balconies that hold 4 guests on Oasis and QN will have the bed by the bath so the cabin on either side of it will by default have the bed by the balcony

Cabins that hold 2 guests can have either bed configuration

Ok, now I'm confused. We're in 12714, to the right of connecting rooms would would say that the bed should be by balcony. But we have 4 people which according to your statement would have the bed by the bath?

  3. Keep in mind, you may benefit from non alcoholic drinks as well. You'll get any soda, waters, red bulls, etc included. I love being able to grab a bunch of bottles waters before leaving the port or stocking up the fridge for night or morning waters. We also start the day off with a red bull. Then sometimes during the day we're just in the mood for a coke. If you take all that into account, you don't even need to come close to 7 alcoholic drinks. Just food (or drinks in this case lol) for thought. Lastly, I also put some value on not having to sign for drinks every time like you have to without the drink package.

Just say "No, I am not interested". That's their job. The Spa personnel get rated and keep their job based on the amount of product they sell. Getting an upsell is all part of the massage experience. Expect it. Don't be a hater. Same when I go to my salon at home... always the upsell. Don't be rude, just say "I am not interested",,, repeatedly. Simple.

Long, long, long ago in the dark ages, I worked at McDonalds and back in the day, I got penalized if I didn't upsell on every order "Is that a large french fry?" "How about an apple pie for dessert?"

"Would you like to supersize that meal?" Of course I do!

  5. We just did that Odyssey southern cruise over Thanksgiving and we're doing Wonder in 3 1/2 weeks. We have done Allure in the past though.

I think that both are unique enough that it's really tough to compare. I loved Aruba and Curacao though. Our Wonder cruise has (imo) not desirable ports but we're doing to for the ship.

My kids loved Odyssey (actually did it twice in 2022) but personally, I prefer the Oasis class.
Bottom line is I'm really no help lol but you can't go wrong with either.

How easy or hard is it to switch devices if I only buy the internet package for one device?  My son and I both do Duolingo daily and don’t want to lose our streak so I would need to switch the internet from my phone to his for about 10 minutes a day. Thanks!

It's very easy. I shared my mom's last cruise and when you login, it just tells you that you're going to kick someone else off. Then when the other person wants on, they just login and it does the same.

    1.  Get a drink

    2.  Connect to wifi

    3.  Schedule activities, shows, any specialty dining in the app

    4.  Get another drink

    5.  Muster

    6.  Get another drink

    7.  Hit a hot tub, either the solarium or the cantilever ones just outside the solarium

    8.  Get more drinks

    9.  Once the cabins are ready, and I'm ready to get out of the hot tub, go find my luggage, get into the room, shower, change, get ready for dinner

#9 is too many things rolled into one without get another drink in between them.

We will be on the Wonder next month and I wanted to see if anyone knows if they are doing this again and, if so, how it works? I know that on our last cruise AO closed from 5-7. But I recently saw a blogger mention that AO staff were taking the kids to the Windjammer for dinner on the Wonder. We generally prefer to have our son with us for dinner but we were going to try Central Park (which he has no interest in) if that was an option one night. Thanks!

On our cruise 6 weeks ago, it was closed during those hours. My son never wanted to go to dinner with us and wanted to go to AO so I would take him to the windjammer while my wife was getting ready and then he'd go to AO and we'd go to dinner.

Not necessarily.  We booked a suite GTY for our upcoming Feb cruise and bid the minimum for an upgrade and got notified that we were upgraded a few days ago (about 30 days out).  We ended up with an Owner's Suite (Jewel) - so excited.  Actually not quite sure what to expect, but this is probably the only time we will ever have a cabin at this level.  The highest category we ever sailed in was a Junior Suite once and expected to be in one this time as well.  We mostly do balcony rooms.

Anyway, the point was that we weren't expecting the upgrade but got it about 30 days out so you never know.  Our last accepted upgrade was much closer to sailing if I remember right, but this one was early.

Thank you! We've only done Junior Suites so I'm really looking forward to possibly having a real suite, maybe a crown loft!

Did you get notified? Or did it show a different room number in your app? That's where I keep checking to see if my room number changes.

These refugees actually thinking that they'll make it all the way to Florida in something like that is the most amazing part.    Seriously ??

They might not think they will make it, but they are willing to take the risk to be here. That shows how bad they have it compared to what they think it'll be like here.

We didn't like the zig-zag of the Esplanade (Promenade) cause you weren't able to see from one end to the other, and people watching was limited. We enjoyed Playmakers sports bar on the Mariner, as it was in the middle of the Promenade, amidst all of the action; however, on Odyssey it's located above the sea plex. The space is great but be aware that there are no bathrooms on that deck!! A sports bar with no restrooms on the same floor, what?!! Definitely a design flaw! I have trouble doing stairs and the elevator (which I never found) was supposed to be located at the far end, so you still have quite a walk to the nearest restroom. We did really enjoy all of the shows though, so book them pre-cruise if you can! Cheers!

The lack of a bathroom in playmakers drove me nuts! We are actually sailing Odyssey again tomorrow though, great ship overall.

  12. We did MTD in april on Odyssey and had zero issues. We always ate at about 7pm, made reservations each day for our time. There was one time we waited 20 minutes because we always wanted the same table and waitstaff and the family before us was still there, but that was our choosing. If we just wanted to eat, there would have been no wait.

Let's say you keep your cabin nice and cold during the night, in the morning you open that window and the warm humid air comes in, and then condensation forms on all those chilled surfaces.

How is this any different than a balcony door being opened in the morning? We do this exact same thing, keep it cold as possible all night, open the balcony in the morning while getting ready or having coffee.

To me this is better than a balcony. All the benefits of having a balcony, because that window is really the same size as the balcony opening to fresh air, but also having the benefits of having a larger room that can be cooled if you keep it closed.
