  1. Hi ... I am looking for suggestions for hotels in Copenhagen for our Baltic cruise in August 2018 for 2 or 3 nights. Probably around 4 star. I have possibly narrowed it down to 3! A few months ago someone recommended The Adina Apartment Hotel.

Also looking at Absalon Hotel & Andersons Hotel. Has anyone stayed at these? Prefer hotel with air con & lift & not too small a room & in a good location for walking to attractions.

The Radisson Blu Waterfront in Stockholm with a room higher up for the water view looks to be our number one choice so far. Any other suggestions?

    Thanks

We stayed at the Absalon in Copenhagen this past May. I would definitely recommend it and would book it myself again. Walkable location, amazing service, great room and breakfast. It books quickly and is reasonable by Copenhagen standards.

  2. The work-around is that you pre-book shore excursions using your credit card, and once aboard go to our Land Discoveries desk and ask them to rebook your selected tours using your OBC. It is very easy and there will be no confrontation from the Land Discoveries staff. They are happy to make the switch for you.

Thank you for responding. I didn’t think the ships staff would be anything but accommodating based on how well we were treated before.

  3. Sit tight for another week or so. I'm expecting / hoping for a resolution soon. (yn)

We sail on the Feb. 20 Quest voyage and I would like to book our shore excursions sooner than later since the ship is almost sold out. I’m trying to get a definitive answer on the “work around” to use OBC and the problem some people are having on board getting their OBC amount recognized. I really don’t want to waste part of my vacation fighting with anyone. Thanks.

  4. It happens. We thought we had $600 OBC on a cruise. Upon embarkation, we asked if we could upgrade to a better cabin. We also asked if we could use the OBC toward the upgrade. The answer was yes. However, guest relations told us that we only had $100 OBC. I showed them my confirmation thst showed the $600 OBC. They still insisted that my OBC was only $100. Contacted my TA who resolved the problem by sending me a check for the missing $500. Not sure who made the mistake. It all worked out.

You’re making me nervous! We sail Feb. 20 on Quest and have $600 OBC. I have the guest copy of the confirmation and plan to have it with me but don’t want to have to fight for what is on our invoice. Also, because of how we booked, we are also entitled to unlimited internet. That is not spelled out on the invoice but my TA confirmed we have this with a call to Azamara. How do I prevent problems from happening? I’m also concerned about booking our shore excursions, planning on using the OBC with the “work-around”, then getting hassled about our OBC. I can book less expensive excursions on my own but planned on using the $600 on these.

  5. Mojitos are not on the list of basic included drinks. We ended up purchasing the 'Like' package at a discount before boarding which included what we usually drink plus unlimited internet (worth $270) and $400 on-Board credit. When we added it all up, the package at $700 made sense for us.

  6. Thanks for the explanation. I had called and asked about adding the Like package and was first told it needed to be a new booking and I asked just about purchasing the package. I was told no' date=' I couldn't. A couple days later I tried again and was told it must be purchased in advance so I did so on the call. I'll probably have no issue spending all the onboard credit so not worried too much, just good to know for the future.[/quote']

When I spoke to Azamara, and in the info they sent me, the OBC included in the package is only for buying Land Discoveries.

  7. Hello aloblady,

    Yes, both statements are true.

But if it's any consolation, $400 towards Land Discoveries will pay for what...maybe two tours for two? (Tours tend to average around $100 pp.) My point is if you have some tours already reserved you can either add another to them or wait until you're onboard and see which of those you have booked already are not sold out. Then cancel the one (or two) which still have space and rebook using your credit. (Do not CX those with a wait list because by rights you'll go to the bottom of the list. Though often if there's enough of a wait list the tour office will get another bus.) It is complicated I acknowledge.

I appreciate your response although I had hoped for a different answer. The site says that you can't reserve Land Discoveries on the website within 10 days of sailing so hopefully, if I cancel some of our tours just before boarding, I'll be able to rebook on board. We'll see. Doesn't seem quite fair that these packages were introduced after I had booked my tours and we aren't 'grandfathered' in.

  8. We are thinking of adding the Like package to our upcoming cruise. Need two answers. 1) $400/cabin OBC for Land Discoveries means we have to cancel the excursions we've paid for and rebook on board? 2) If my husband wants to upgrade to the Top Shelf package he has to pay an additional $18.95 per day, not just the $3/day difference between the included drink upgrade and the Top Shelf level? Are these both true? Thanks.

  9. Our last cruise in March 2015 the standard of the included wine was just average but I guess has to meet budget constraints. More about quantity than quality ! Felt sorry for the sommeliers as few passengers chose to pay for better quality wines.

Can you please tell me what the charge is for an individual drink not on the 'included' list? Thank you.
