  1. Okay, so some might find this a bit cheezy but we certainly feel we stumbled upon a hidden gem on our Splendor cruise last week. The last sea day they have the towel folding class followed by a performance of "Towel Animal Theater". It is really a first-rate puppetry production on the level of Henson and related projects. Doing a little research it was created by one of Henson's ex-puppeteers who also was in the Broadway production of Avenue Q. Our kids LOVED it and my wife and I were very entertained as well (plenty of "adult" jokes that go over the kid's heads and really good music). Thought I would share something that many might otherwise overlook.

  2. Since we fly home, don't do self-assist, stay on decks that invariably receive the highest debark number we are always among the last to leave. Why should we have to fight the curbside crowds who can't get on the ship for another couple of hours?

You can only control YOU. Make some choices that will lessen the impact on yourself from arriving passengers. You know they will be there...why do that to yourself if you so dislike it?

  3. Simply stated, consuming vanilla produced in Mexico is a serious health risk. With a background in organic chemistry, I can tell you the solvent used in extracting the flavoring is often toxic in Mexico as the producers are subject to little or no regulation. Buy your vanilla in the US and protect your life.

Thank you Mr. Wizard. It was just yesterday that I read an article about folks in Mexico dropping dead in droves because of this...oh, wait, I didn't read that.

  4. I'm missing something. Where do you get the courtesy bus? We will be at Progresso for 1st time in August and the double decker bus and beach sound like just what we want. Just need to understand how to get to that point first.

    Thanks,

The courtesy busses will be waiting at the end of the pier where the ship docks. Just follow the signs once you get off the ship.
