  1. On our cruise last month, we met one of the models on QVC. Hubby thinks I always recognize someone and he's always sure that I'm wrong, so he walked up to her and asked her! I was mortified, but she was was lovely and gracious about it and I think maybe even a little flattered. We also heard the guy from Flip this House was onboard, but I wouldn't have known him if I saw him...oh well!

  2. Yes, it's fairly new on the menu. We just got off the Legend yesterday:(, and our waitress said it was so popular, that they decided to offer it every day. I had it every night. The taste is identical to the flourless chocolate cake, and usually the consistency was the same, but some nights it was much more runny. I didn't care...I still wanted to lick the little ramekins out...:D

  3. PT Crusier because it's FUN to drive and ride in and Carnival is the FUNship!! Not that I am prejudice because I own a black one with blue and purple flames down the side...

Right on with the black Petey! We are a two PT family, our black one with ghost flames and our electric blue turbo. Just like Carnival, they are fun to cruise with! And BTW, ours are named PeTey and PeTunia~;)

Too bad the ones that come over here and bad-mouth Carnival haven't got a clue what they're talking about...

  4. Ballerina is the only jeweler I go to now in St. Maarten. A friend of mine put me on to them and said to mention his name there. Well, I was treated like royalty, and their prices I have found to be extremely good. I really appreciate the non-pushy sales approach too. I've never seen them on the "approved" list, but I think that list is merely the shops that give a kick-back to the cruise line. With my travel agent background, I know how that game works...

  5. I think this is what you want. It is the best! This was on another thread taken directly from the Carnival Cookbook: Enjoy!

    CARNIVAL'S FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE CAKE

    Unsweetened cocoa powder

2 (8-oz.) packages semisweet chocolate squares, coarsely chopped

1/2 cup butter - do not use margarine

    5 large eggs, separated

    1 tablespoon vanilla extract

    1/4 cup sugar

Grease a 9-inch springform pan, and dust with unsweetened cocoa powder.

Melt chopped chocolate and butter in a heavy saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth.

Whisk together egg yolks and vanilla in a large bowl. Gradually stir in warm chocolate mixture, whisking until well blended.

Beat egg whites at high speed with electric mixer until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar, beating until sugar dissolves and stiff peaks form. Fold one-third beaten egg white mixture into chocolate mixture; gently fold in remaining egg white mixture just until blended. Spoon batter into prepared pan, spreading evenly.

Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes. (Do not overbake!) Let stand in pan on a wire rack 10 minutes before removing sides of pan

  6. We just booked room 7298 aft suite with the wrap around balcony on The Miracle. Has anyone had this room?? Is there lawn chairs? Can I lay in the sun out there? People would see me if I was at the pool so I really don't care if they see me out there. I am just excited there will be enough space for all five of us to sit out there. The kids have an interior room across the hall.;)

We've had 7298 on both the Miracle and Legend. When we walked out on our balcony this last time on the Miracle, there were NINE chairs and loungers out there! Someone must have had one whale of a party. Nine made it a bit too crowded, so we piled most of them up.

If you stand or lay close to the railing, then the folks up above can see a bit of you. If you stay closer to the wall, then no...not unless someone is craning their neck around the divider next door... And if that's the case, then give 'em a show!:D

I've got quite a few pics of the balconies in my webshots if you'd like to see. Just click on the links in my signature.
