  1. We just found out that we finally got our first Royal Up accepted.  WE are sailing on the Liberty, 4/3/22. We went from a JS to an OS.  WE bid in the low range so were very excited to have gotten it.  My BIL paid about $2500 more than we did by just booking it at full price so we aren't even going to mention how cheap we got this stateroom for.

You could always cancel your bid.😉

But FWIW, the Genie is just part of the STAR experience.  As a fellow Pin, you would find the Genie extras really aren't anything special anyway. At least that was our experience on the 2020 Allure TA.

We really want to check out the Star Loft Suite so not going to cancel it. If we don't get it, no big loss.  Next time.

Talked to my doc.  Fortunately this only hit me bad for one day.  Still isolating until Tuesday, and will get another test before I start the drive to Texas.  If I test positive still, and the doc said there is that chance,  although I am not contagious, I won't make the drive.  She said after 10 days from onset of symptoms, you are not contagious.  She did say the plus side is that I'll have great immunity, so not to get the booster for another three months.

I am hoping I can still cruise and my husband has been taking tests and we are still keeping our distance.  Nice to know that with Royal I won't lose any money.  So as much as I'd like to go on this sailing...(the deal was outstanding) I can deal with what I need to do if the test is positive still. Thank you all for your input and advice.  I'll wait until the week of the cruise before I make any firm decisions.

I'm so sorry as we are in Colorado as well and had to cancel 2 cruises in September as we both got COVID and hubby spent 13 day's in ICU. The good news was that we tested negative 30 days later.  I am hoping you will test negative and get on the cruise ship. Good luck and get better!

I have not heard that but that could be true. I always buy the CT onboard and barter for a good price. I usually get 50% off.

WE usually barter as well.  The last few times we paid $55.00 pp but I was able to get 12 people (our friends) to join us and I was successful in negotiating the wines.  The last few times the offerings were mostly white wines and pretty cheap wines so they were nice enough to sit down with me to pick the wine's for each course. We will be on Oasis in November so I am hoping to do so again.

This is pure SPECULATION on my part and I know there is no answer yet, but I have been wondering at what point Royal Caribbean and all the other cruise lines for that matter will no longer consider you "Fully Vaccinated" once the booster is approved and available.  I know most people can't even get the booster as of yet.  But I would imagine at some point the CDC will "recommend" a booster to cruise.

I have no idea. The vaccine doesnt even work. We took the vaccine to cruise and just tested positive. Had to cancel our cruise on Sunday! First time vaccinated in 20 years and yipee!

  6. We are booked to go to Maya Chan in September. We're on a B2B so not sure what we will do on our second week.  Maya Chan is lovely.  It's a day pass and has kayaks, paddle boards, all - inclusive with a lovely lunch and unlimited drinks. They also offer massages on the beach.  Not sure how much they charge as it has been at least 3 years since our last visit.
