My son and his wife found a purple plastic diamond in the back of their safe. apparently a child had placed her "jewel" in the safe. This made my day.

We tried to give a tip tp our server at dinner last cruise and he refused saying his boss the team leader got all tips and would share. This was Carnival Dream. I have even been told by frequent cruisers to write a note with tips left in room or the steward could get fired for taking the money. We locked money and credit cards in our safe but cameras were always left in the room and never were bothered as were I-phones also left without incident. I have heard logo American sport team hats are highly desirable though.

I wondered that as well. I love watching others have fun and am fairly non judgmental BUT when it infringes on the rights of other PAYING customers it should be posted.

I see your point. Did not realize it was a closed case. He should not be going through your things. An open pair of glasses lying about is ok I think though.

We looked forward to our towel animals each night. They are a part of the Carnival experience.

In the carnival towel animal class they encourage the use of sunglasses. Totally appropriate.

We usually average $200 but I am not a drinker and tips are included in my tab. I have not had onboard credit. Seemed those deals just cost more up front. Also I prepay excursions.

Do you ask who are you, where do you come from, why are you working this job of your waiters at Denny's?
Kind of presumptuous don't you think?
Yes unless they volunteer the info as our last steward did. It was his last cruise and he was leaving for medical school.

I drink on board water but it is nice to have it cold in your room at night and available for shore excursions.

Carnival just started selling water through their online store ahead cheaper $2.99 for 12 pack of 16 oz bottles because you can no longer bring bottles of drinks on board. If you order on board it is $4.99 same water. Seems a good deal. Perhaps this is where you can purchase water on other cruise ships.

My husband was a skeptic but once on board said he didn't have to worry about driving or reservations etc and enjoyed. a 7 day break .

We each leave a $20 bill with a very short written thank you. Seems the room steward could use this. We don't want to waste his precious time on his busiest day being cute. Remember the day you disembark is their longest day because they have to clean your room and embark another guest as well.

It was quite a bit larger than the conquest

And on first day or sail always it was deck to deck people

Any videos I've seen makes it look like the Dream is really crowded, especially on the decks with pool and sunning areas? Is this all the time, or possibly just the first day when people might be filming videos? I haven't been on a Carnival ship and the Dream doesn't seem to be that much larger than my last ship the Grand Princess. Grand just didn't seem that crowded to me.
Grand Princess Carnival Dream
Length 290' 306'
decks 17 15
Passengers 3100 3652
crew 1100 1369
I went last jan on the Dream and there were hardly anyone on the decks at times

May 29th Fantasy Review- Costa Maya and Cozumel
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
Thank you for the detailed review. I am going on the Fantasy in January on this itinerary and it was very helpful. I have been to Cozumel 3 times but Costa Maya is a first. I had 2 sailings with bad weather also.
