We were allocated c743 on azura transatlantic in march and we're very happy with it....last cabin on the starboard side and extra large balcony.....Thanks so much for that very helpful info Joan. We’ve actually just been talking about it some more and maybe not everyone will choose the deluxe category. For those who don’t, i get the impression that C deck seems most favourable but seem to sell out quickly. Is there any advice for C deck balconies?

Just had another thought......p&o customer service is waaaaay better than marrella's as they are truly awful.

We have sailed with both p&o and marrella and enjoyed them both....it would probably be better if you go on either discovery or explorer as they are bigger than the older smaller ships....we thought that the marrella entertainment just beat p&o's and the food was slightly better on marrella.we have 2 marrella cruises booked for next year having done 2 p&o cruises this year.....read into that what you will.

Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for reporting back.
There have been a few naysayers reporting huge drop in Costa standards recently, but all coming back from the Serena are reporting a positive experience. Even of there has been a bit of a decline, at the ridiculously low proces I won't complain. Certainly could not get a week full board in Dubai for that price for sure and not even treble the cost.
I heard about the cuts and drop in standards but if that is true then they must have been out of this world before the cuts.we had a great time on this cruise and visiting dubai for the 1st time was brilliant.cant wait to go back.

You can put cash on your costa card by inserting them into the slot machines and going through a simple process.you then transfer all or part of that cash each time you play and then when you finish, put it back onto your card.you can cash in on the last night at the cashiers office in the casino and they give you euros in return.we put €20 on ours and cashed in for €58 mainly on the video poker game.

Other than that we had a great time on this cruise and would recommend it to anyone.

Breakfast service was only in the ceres restaurant and was really slow for some reason.after 3 days of waiting for service we ate at the the buffet which had most of the same things as the ceres.

Embarkation was as bad as i was told.on the ship at 3pm but didnt get our cabin until 8pm.we luckily got 2 of the comfy armchairs in the terminal so managed some sleep.

Cruises will go where folks pay to go...I would NOT go to the mideast anytime soon...or N. Africa...or anyplace that hates us....
If you limit yourselfonly to places that like you you will miss some fascinating and beautiful destinations.
