    Just when I thought I had understood all about the drinks package!! What are the vouchers? Where/how do you get them? We are sailing Fantastica on Meraglivia in November in the Med hopefully xx

    I'm so sorry for another question about this but I can't find the answer to my question and when I think I've found it it relates to US or non Europe!

     

    Wanting to go on Meraviglia from Barcelona 25 November for 7 days. When I make a mock booking it includes the bar and restaurant drinks package. My issue is my hubby won't drink Heineken. Am I right in thinking if we upgrade to the deluxe package that that includes all bottled beers? He will drink one or two of the bottle beers and JD too. If so can just one of us buy the upgrade and does anyone know how much it is and what's included in the deluxe package. I know that everything without an asterix is included on the classic just not what's included on the deluxe!

    Please be aware that the shuttles in Civitavecchia don't drop you at the port gate any more....they drop you in a car/coach park further away from the station probably at least 15 minute walk......I have heard there is a local bus which goes there for a euro or two so best do your research.....it used to be so easy but changed at least 6 months ago...maybe longer!

     

    It's still really easy, the shuttle from the port drops you in a car park at the edge of town, you can take another bus that is very well sign posted for 2 euros to the station or you can walk to the station really easily in about the same time because the bus will wait to fill up so if the bus is nearly full pay the 2 euros and get going but if the bus is empty and waiting to fill up just walk. We had a 10 year old and a 75 year old in our party and have done both.

    Was this "murder" over new year? If so it was a woman who'd had a mental breakdown and was assigned to her cabin until we got back to Barcelona, the doc declared her medically unfit and she was confined to her cabin for the rest of the cruise, about 2 nights in total and a security guy sat outside 24/7 making sure she didn't get out

    I did 2 on the Epic at Xmas and New year and attended 2 at Easter. We started at 6pm in the highest bar on the ship, made everyone wear mardi gras beads so we were easy to identify then allowed 25 minutes per bar, drank up and moved on. Most people had the package and it was really good fun. We finished in OSheehans and had food although with hindsight maybe we should have had food first!!:')

    I'd say that's your best bet. We found in Dubai that the taxi rates differed for cruise guests from sharing our experiences so be vigilant about over-charging.

     

    Sorry - I had gone off to get the planners for the other two ports and was editing the post when I was notified of your post. Here's info on the others:

     

    For Manama,Bahrain and Doha there were shuttle buses. The cost was €12.90 pp and €9.90 respectively - valid all day - into the city centre for Manama and into City Centre Mall, West Bay for Doha.

    Beer Package - Prepaid menu

    We have an unlimited drink package but on a point you made about not seeing the beer package online...I wanted to get the laundry package and can't find where I can purchase it online either. I called my MSC rep and he said they've taken it down online but I could still purchase it on board for same price. Have you called MSC about trying to get the beer package?

    That happened to me last week but I was able to book and pay for that and a few other things just yesterday. I'm not sure if I was in the right website, i.e. msc.com as opposed to where I should be .co.uk? I know that happens on NCL webpages, just a thought

    Abu Dhabi shuttle

    I'm pretty certain I read that MSC or the port provide a shuttle bus in Abu Dhabi, anyone any idea where it goes??

     

    I have tried searching and can't find anything?

     

    Also does anyone know about shuttles in Doha or Bahrain?
