  2. We are planning to cruise to canada next september(2015) and are very interested is observing the changing tides in the Bay of Fundy. We will be visiting St. John 10AM- 6PM and Halifax from 8AM-5 PM. We would appreciate any info you can offer. Has anyone hired a limo to tour the areas and see the changing tides. I would appreciate any info on that also. I think the St. John stop is close to an observation place, but I think it is a ride to an observation point from Halifax. We are wondering if it would be better to make the drive from Long Island and spend a few days in New Brunswick, in order to observe more. We appreciate any input. Thank you. Delroom

    Drive from Long Island and go to N.B. or go the extra miles and drive to Truro, Nova Scotia which is where the tidal bore is , really great to see then, while in Halifax go to Peggy's cove and make sure you have the seafood chowder , it is beautiful there,( I am from The Martimes),

  3. Have you registered for myncl? That gives you access to your booking details, and you can probably book shore excursions and gifts already. At 90 days, restaurant reservations will open up there.

    Usually you have to pay for any reservations by credit card, but I believe that if you have the UDP then it doesn't charge you (haven't tried it myself because I don't buy the UDP and don't usually prebook restaurants).

    Thanks KeithJenner, that is what I wanted to know, yes I am on myncl, so I marked it on my calendar for the 90 days

  4. Yes you can use OBC, but you'll have to wait until you get on board to purchase the package. You can not use OBC to make any advance purchases.

    The stateroom bar setup is for a single bottle of booze. If you want a variety of smaller quantities in your stateroom you can order individual drinks from room service or buy the single serving bottles from the mini bar. Room service and mini bar prices are the same as a lounges around the ship but are not included in any "package".

    If you really feel you must have a package as opposed to paying as you go with ala carte purchases then you can buy an unlimited package. These don't include room service nor mini bar but you can obtain drinks at any bar or lounge to take back to your cabin but only one at a time per package owner.

    Also, the stateroom bar setup includes 6 cans of soda type mixer of your choice. Juices are available at no extra cost to everyone from room service 24 hours a day.

    Thank You Lsimon, we are not big drinkers but like to have a drink on our balcony when relaxing,

  5. Good Morning;

    I am sorry I have read more than half and my eyes are crossing;

    my question I am looking for answers to is "The Stateroom Bar Setup"

    for the $102.00 or $81.60 is that for one bottle of e.g. Jack Daniels, or what is the amount you can order, we would like a Van Gogh,Captain Morgan,Barcadi,Jack Daniel's with some oj,ginger ale,coke,apple juice, so would the $81.60 Can. be for all this?

    Thanks

  6. Pop, Juice, Wine yes. Have a nail clipper with if you buy booze. It will go through security they will put a plastic band on your bag so they know when you are going to enter the ship you have booze. Well when you start to walk to the ship, clip the plastic band and you are good to go.

    I know you can bring 1 bottle of wine per person over 21 , and are you allowed to bring pop and juice, we ordered our rum & vodlka from Carnival so I wanted to get my oj and Hubby's coke at the pier, if not then I will buy it before we return the car,

    Thanks

  7. Hi Joan:)...click on Flickr in my signature and you will see one of

    albums on the right side that says "Galaxy Jan 9th-19th". It was 2009. There are 58 photos and some are of the hotel.

    If you are staying there for 3 nights you need to try the Italian Restaurant. It is a bit pricey but my meal was fabulous:)

    And the hotel has 2 pools and the lush greenery is lovely all around the grounds.

    Thanks Lois, lovely pictures and we will try the Resturant as we love Italian,

    Joan

  8. Hi,:) I stayed here last year. Its a beautiful property but quite far

    from the piers, both the Pan American and the Pier in Old San Juan.

    Hope you are at least staying there for a full extra day to at least

    take advantage of the beach by the hotel.

    Good Morning Lois, we are staying there for three(3) nights Feb/18,19,20,

    please tell me about this place that my DH and I are looking forward to going to

    Thanks
