  1. We will be joining you on the Magic! I have never been to Copenhagen, however I looked into an early disembarkation. We have since been able to switch flights to avoid changing planes, but we originally had tickets for an 8am flight. Because we dock in Copenhagen the day before, I confirmed with Disney that we could disembark at any time. I was told that I would have to notify Guest Services on board at least 48 hours in advance. Obviously, you would have to take your own luggage off. So, you may want to call or email Disney yourself, just to have it on the record, but I don't think you should have any problems at all. :)

Thank you! We have not booked quite yet, wanted to be sure we could find decent flights. I didn't realize we actually returned to Copenhagen the day prior to disembarkation. Disney recommends not booking flights before 12:30pm, so that's why I was a little unsure.

  2. I hope the Dream and Fantasy toped up thier supplies at the last port. The GFS model is calling for Matthew to do a power up circle and come back thru the middle of Florida.

Me too! I have clients on the Fantasy right now, my gut tells me docking at PC on Saturday isn't likely to happen! Hope i'm wrong though, they are scheduled to fly home Saturday afternoon...

  3. Why don't they just send the Dream to Tampa on Friday?

They have a real cruise ship terminal there. Most passengers will be using the Orlando airport, which isn't that much farther from Tampa than it is from Port Canaveral.

I mean, sure, they'd need to bus around a lot of people, and they'd need to figure out how to make sure that everything they need to put on the boat for the 10/7 cruise makes it to Tampa instead of PC, but it seems like something they could figure out if they start the move now. seems like that would be cheaper than canceling the 10/7 cruise. or worse, repeating the Superstorm Sandy disaster where they damaged their reputation by sailing into a storm to try to keep to their schedule.

Unfortunately the Dream will not fit under the Sunshine Skyway.

  4. We just booked a last minute Spring break trip on the Carnival Glory in an interior stateroom since it will be a bonus vacation this year=) We are a family of 4-2 adults, 2 kids. We have not cruised in an inside before, so I was wondering if we are better leaving the bottom beds as twins to maximize floor space? We will have two pull downs from the ceiling for the kids. Looking at pictures, it looks like you it might be tight having the beds pushed together. What have you all found to work well for your family of 4 to maximize space? Any other tips/tricks?

  5. We were on the Disney Fantasy this past fall and had the pleasure of experience Hurricane Joaquin.. not a pleasant ridge for about 24 hours, missed Castaway Cay, and were several hours late getting back to Port Canaveral which caused huge backups at the debarkation. This caused many people to wait hours in long lines to disembark this ship, several hour waits for transportation, and therefore many people missing flights. We were lucky, and were going to Disney after so it wasn't a huge deal for us, but for many it was. At no time did we feel unsafe however they kept getting closer and closer to Cuba because the storm did not swing north as quickly as anticipated, so we experienced more severe weather than was expected. Just be prepared for the possibility of something unforeseen happening. All that sad, I would still sail during hurricane season, just be prepared, and don't do it without travel insurance!

  6. Has anyone done the drive down I-65/75/Florida Turnpike from the Kentucky area to Port of Miami recently? We are looking to make the drive for spring break to catch a cruise leaving Saturday, but we aren't able to leave Louisville till about noon on the Friday before. Just wondering if there is any construction on the route that is creating habitual delays. We are debating whether or not we could make it in time. We love the itinerary/price, and I think we can do it if there sin't much major construction/delays. Just wondering if anyone has done anything like that before. It's a little over 1,000 miles we would have to do in about 24-25 hours. Thanks everyone!

  7. We are a family of 4, 2 adults 2 kids, and we are thinking about a last minute get out of town and into the sun cruise for spring break on the Norwegian Star. We are not picky about our cabin, however we have always cruised in a balcony cabin before, but we are thinking about an inside this time since it fits our last minute trip budget better=) They look to be on the smaller side with 4 people, and I worry about hitting our heads on the pulldown beds in the middle of the night. So my question is should we leave the beds on the floor separate for space reasons, or is there enough room to get out of bed in the middle of the night if they are pushed together without hitting our heads? I"m also curious about the sideways cabins? Anyone have any thoughts on those?
