  1. Just got off of the Costa Victoria this morning. They served white beans, cabbage, and cold fish for every meal. Coffee in the morning and sometimes at lunch, but the coffee machine was often not working. The "vegetable of the day " was always, you guessed it...cabbage. I finally started skipping meals, even though I was hungry.

The most alarming part though, was what I learned from a friend tracking the boat. He informed me that the captain was turning off the collision avoidance transmitter as soon as he was about 20 nautical miles from port. Then taking shortcuts through what the US Navy calls "thin waters". I kept thinking of the Concordia was relieved to get off of that ship.

I must say the housekeeping staff was great and the ship kept clean. But discord from administration makes this a NEVER AGAIN decision for me, and everyone I talked to on that cruise.

  2. I am on the Costa Victoria right now. All of the bad reviews were true. Well, my bed does not have bed bugs. I have quite a few negative observations to add, but will send CC a full report when I return (the list keeps getting longer).

If you love beans and cabbage and overcooked broccoli at every meal, this is the cruise for you!!! I've lost all appetite and am losing weight, so maybe that is a plus. The maid gives me plenty of tea, which curbs the hunger pangs.

For me, this cruise is about learning while at port and working in my cabin on business since there is nothing on this ship outside my cabin door worth doing.

I'm glad I came to see these places, but would never never use this ship again.

  3. There are so many negative reviews about the Costa Victoria, maybe I shouldn't even go. I paid for my 1/2-15/15 cruise, but haven't bought my air from the US yet. Maybe I should forget about the $1800 I paid before wasting a similar amount for the airline ticket. Is it really that awful? I am a single woman traveling alone, but don't want to be miserable for 2 weeks.

    What do you think?
