Titled the Legends 2020 World Cruise has now been released and is on the web site along with pricing (I will need to find 2 money trees -see previous post) It must be wonderful to have so much that world trips are matter of fact and cost does not come into the equation) I am jealous but one must live to his/her means. I do enjoy cruising and am thankful that i can do some sailing and enjoy the company of so many nice people.

Sorry for the rant but its the guests and crew who make the voyages last in the memory.

I think that 2018 was seen as a run of the mill world cruise and although it was visiting the high points for the first time world cruisers it was seen as old hat to the 150 guests who go every year.

These core guests are very vocal and whether right or wrong the company listens and does change things to suit them. When the first 2019 wc route was given to this group they said no and changes were made and looking at the 2019 it is very different from what I saw and coupled with a dry dock before, and the addition of famous authors finishing in London they mostly signed up.

2020 was a total shock in that it went to the far ends of the earth and beyond and although some of the worlds great cities are missing (Auckland,Hong Kong) the replacements are ticking the bucket list for many many people. The chance to go south to snow and ice and North to Norway is great thinking. If it has only been released at present to the regulars and they have said yes then I suspect that it will be almost full of people going all the way.

Can it be a success? well if my past experience is correct then Silverseas can pull it off.

I too have a great deal of concern re bringing my meds into USA as I have booked the World Cruise for 2019.

I have a condition which although it is serious the drugs I take do control it very well but I have to take 14 pills of various types a day which adds up to a LOT. When I get my supply at home for 2 months I always take them out of the package and put them into bag for each day that way I know I have taken the correct amount. I can find no point of contact to answer some questions. I will need at least 2000 pills.

I would welcome any thoughts.

Thanks for the pics mine would never win a prize in any competition.

I have my own thoughts on this years voyage but will express them to the bosses of Silversea rather than take up space here. Overall it was good but I think the special events were apart from the taj trip very badly handled---who ever heard of a ball without dancing and the meal was beef, pasta with vegtables and more beef very 'nice' espescially for normal eaters or vegans

That is an understatement.

We now learn that the masks will not be delivered until 4.30 today and they are now asking for us to be in theatre for 5.45. Once again I get the feeling that no one is willing to take charge.

On a much brighter note the crew show was wonderful with Oliver singing opera it was superb so different form his normal songs and had the whole theater standing up for over 1 minute.

The acts from all depts were great.

We have received the details of the last special event The Grand Venetian Ball. As the title says most of us expected a grand event with a musical group and dancing to the yearly hours in a splendid palace.

However it would appear that the Miami office has a different understanding of the event,

We are to be in the ships theater for 6.15 for drinks and then taken to the venue where a meal will be served and it will end at 10.15 back at the ship.

There is no dancing and the return time is usually the when we inly start having fun. Does Miami think we are past it (not looking at how many were on the dance floor last night.)

I do hope they remember that the masks (provided and mandatory) have to fit over glasses and match the colour of the gowns.

I may be wrong but!

We are entering the twilight of the 2016 wc but still some nice places to visit this week.

Sailing into Crete at present and the weather is a shock for all the wc's who have been used to warmer climates.

I have found the venue for the Grand Venetian Ball Palazzo Pisani Moretta which looks wonderful. We depart on Thursday evening by motor launch.

I have now spoken again to Paul and Its not just us all the ships are missing the reader.

I have the email address of a couple of the Head offfice staff who have helped me in the past. I will talk to Norman and at the same time drop a note to them.

Meanwhile life is easy and we continue to progress up the Red Sea towards Egypt.

As usual all the crew are preparing for the crew show very few rumours at present so i will have to wait.

Deck 5 is where you could normally go outside to view sea use gangway but now contains some of the gear used to protect against pirates as we are travelling in that area of the world.

The extra guards are very nice:)

It would appear the head office is ignoring the plight of the local tech Paul who is superb and just treating is as a minor problem. Too the best of my knowledge the network seems to be better but the extra like vod and an electronic version of the chronicle have never worked in the 14 weeks i have been onboard.

It rained yesterday morning (1st for months) but improved later.

Deck 5 is still out of bounds and will be until later in the week as we run the gauntlet.

Still 2 weeks to go but the packing has to start now:(

Silvesea has listened to the customer and totally revised the WC for 2018.

Gone is the silly cruise that went against time (eastward) and failed to go to the some of the worlds great capitals (sydney,hk,etc) and put in place a thoughtful wc with lots of overnights and longer stays.u

will try to save some pennies for it

Sorry but I don't know where you are flying from to Miami but ours are from London.

My flights were booked the day i made the deposit payment. If you login to my silversea and navigate to bookings and the click on details. About halfway down i see my flight details and the airline reference no with which I was able to go to the airline we site enter my feq flyer no. and book my seats.

We are new to cruising in fact we have never been on a ship before but after winning some (quite a lot) dollars my travel agent recommened that we spend some time on the sea.

I only found this web site recently but am still very confused as to what u do all day. My life is very set in routine cows need milked crops need looking after so this is a change. we are on the boat for all 115 nights but i am usually in bed by 9 pm at home and never eat after 630

you thoughts would be most welcome
