  1. Scenario: We have four people sailing, two of us are long time RC and booked a cabin each with our casino offers. Once onboard, we would like to have two people  swap cabins, which I know isn't usually a problem. We would end up with two people in a cabin who are 19 and 20. Is this going to be a problem? We would prefer to have the actual sea pass cards adjusted as one of the rooms is a loft suite and the other is a junior suite.  I know what the web site says, and that it is not possible to actually book two people under 21 in the same cabin. I am looking for personal experience and to see if anyone has had experience with a similar situation.

  2. Hi all!  We are sailing AoS at the end of May on the Canada itinerary.  I know temps are typically in the mid 70's, so I'm trying to find out if the pools on AoS are heated.  I would also like to know if they are salt filtered or chlorine?  I had read another post that seemed to indicate they are salt, which would be great.

    TIA!

  3. I've not done Victory, but I'm going on my second solo on Liberty this year in Oct. I'll agree that Donkey is a fantastic cruise director! He is fun and his 80's gear is amazing. You hear a lot about Carnival being 'booze' cruises - especially the short ones, but I found I could just relax and enjoy my get away. If there was heavy partying on the ship, it stayed in the areas of the ship designed for that and didn't impact me at all.

I am a frequent Royal cruiser, too. I find Carnival's short cruises to be a little more relaxed and casual. I didn't have any high pressure sales pitches from the stores, spa, steak house, drink packages, or anything else - that was nice. Whichever you choose - enjoy!

  4. Love the solo cruise discussion! I had my first on the Liberty earlier this year and got a casino offer, so I’m back on Liberty in Oct. Solo again! Then RCI Brilliance in Jan. My husband is a home body and I am not. I travel as often as I can and he hangs out with the pup. [emoji4][emoji57]

  5. Out of all the experiences I've read about picking check-in times, I don't think I've ever seen anyone say that it never showed up for them, so at least you have that going for you. It should appear at some point. Has anyone created a Roll Call for your cruise? If so, ask on there to see if everyone else is experiencing the same thing. If there isn't one, I suggest creating it and ask about it.

I may get to be the first! I am 63 days out on the Liberty and have no appt. time option. I have FTTF, so it really doesn't matter, but now I just really want to see it.

  6. Hi,

I'm looking at moving my RCI Liberty New Year cruise to NCL. I'm looking at the Escape Eastern or the Getaway Western. The bathroom set up on the Epic would not work for us, so that itinerary is out.

What should I be aware of as an NCL newbie? And of the two, which is your favorite and why? I love the looks of both and the huge variety of dining. It will be me, my mom, my 20 yo son and 14 yo daughter. Thinking two balcony or two mini suite.

I've cruised DCL, RCI and trying a short Carnival in Sept.

  7. I would advise to have set dining, early or late. Carnival is usually good at putting solos on the same table.

Good point! I am on the early seating as of now - I may switch to the later seating, though. Early is a little too early and we don't depart Nassau until 8:00 pm. I may skip MDR that night anyway, though - not really interested in hauling on clothes for elegant night for a 3 day cruise. :)

  8. I've never sensed it was for "hooking up", just a way for passengers traveling by themselves to meet others in the same situation.

Thanks. I'm married and 47, so hoping I can find a similar demographic. [emoji57]I'm pretty introverted, as well, so something geared to ice breaking is helpful.

  9. Hi all, I'm doing a quick solo trip to see how I like solo and Carnival. I've noticed a singles meet and greet in the Fun Times, but I'm not single, just solo. [emoji57] Does anyone know if the meet and greet is more focused on hooking up or would be a good option for solo?

  10. I'm quite a bit older than you, OP, but I'm getting ready for my first solo cruise in Sept. I have traveled solo on numerous land trips, so I'm pretty comfortable solo. Still a little nervous about solo on the cruise, though. I tend to be a little on the introvert side, too. I think we will both do great.
