  1. I was wondering if anyone has any recent experience renting from Paradise Carts? Also, would anyone have an idea how long of a walk it  is from the dock to their location, which is listed as:

    Cochran Drive
    Palm Grove, Grand Turk
    Turks & Caicos TKCA1ZZ

It has been so long since I have been on a cruise I forgot how far in advance we used to book shore excursions. Then again, we booked this cruise much later than we used to. The Wet Money website is showing they have none available on the day we will be in Grand Turk.

  2. I called the company yesterday interested in getting information about a cruise we have booked for April of 2022 with Celebrity out of Miami. We need to purchase a policy in the next 72 hours because we need the coverage for preexisting condition. I will be kind and say the individual we spoke with was not very knowledgeable. As an example, at one point she said this cruise is for April 2021, right? My wife was on the call and said she had zero confidence in the individual on the phone and she would stop me if I elected to purchase a policy with this person.

Airfare is unknowable at this point because it appears, according to Google flights anyway,  no airline has schedules out to April 2022. Same with a hotel fare in Miami.

Reading this board Steve obviously is the expert but I will guess he is very difficult to speak with. What other employees have you found helpful?

Thank you in advance for your suggestions!

  3. It is a 9 night repositioning cruise starting in Miami and only visiting two ports - Aruba and Curacao then ending in Cape Liberty. Switching Bonaire for Curacao would make no difference to us - we have been to neither. The cruise is in 2022. My wife has never been to NYC so we will spend time there afterwards. We know an aft cabin will feel a good bit more movement than mid-ship but the enormous size of that balcony is why we love it.

  4. My wife has had problems in the past with rough seas. We are considering a repositioning cruise which will take us from Curacao to Cape Liberty April 30th thru May 4. I fully understand "stuff happens" but I am just wondering under "typical conditions," what kind of seas might we experience? I will add that we would be in our favorite aft cabin on a Celebrity Millennium-class ship.

Our last cruise was in 2007 to the Galapagos and we are real excited about going on another cruise. I have no idea the last time I tried to access the Cruise Critic website and our email addresses have changed so it appears we are total newbies.....though looking around this site and all that has changed in the world of cruising - maybe we are.🤣

  5. Airborne is great, so is Emer'gen-C - the are both immune system boosters. I take them whenever/wherever I travel, and usually take some a few hours before flying. Guess I'm germ-phobic.

On my first cruise, which happened to be my honeymoon, I got sick with a respiratory infection the first day of the cruise, then after snorkeling in Grand Cayman, ended up with a UTI - had to see the ship doctor on the last port day of the cruise because I was SO sick. He could only treat the UTI, as I am allergic to penicillin and some other meds, and I had to wait until I was home to get the respiratory infection treated.

Now I make sure I bring antibiotics and other OTC meds with me *just in case*......anyone who is prone to a particular type of illness would be wise to do the same.
